The latest version has worse sound effects for the weapons. They've taken on a higher, more tinny pitch. This is an unforgiveable error of judgment, and I'm handing in my Brutal Doom card.

I like Project Brutality 2.03 more. Easily one of the greatest action games of all time on painkiller difficulty.

The player also moves insanely fast. There's a focus on headshots. There are extra weapons like a new BFG that shoots in spurts, an SMG that shoots pistol rounds, a rifle that shoots minigun rounds, a grenade launcher, etc; all weapons also have alt firing modes. Enemies are way more dangerous too. There are also extra powerups that allow you to become a Baron of Hell and a RevenantThe mod is completely different from base Doom and the gore is the most minor part. You can get gore for base Doom just as easily

>>729100459I'd agree with you now, especially since Dark Ages came out, alongside 2016 and maybe Eternal. Not to say Brutal Doom is bad, IMO, the improvements feel natural and not hamfisted. Feels more like an actual "Doom 3" than what we got.

And it's an animation you have to watch over and over again, resulting in the "oh shit thats pretty cool" factor wearing off sooner rather than later. Not to mention that there hasn't been any sort of upgrade where you can glory kill multiple demons at once, or any of the sort what so ever. I like glory kills, but I see the reasons why they're looked down upon.
