On the new mode, yes. Lunatic FEs vary wildly between entries, though. I would say they're about the same. Endgame FFT on Tactician is way harder than the beginning though, which is different from most games where it gets easier. The knights and mages the game throws at you are monstrous.

if you can embrace the cringe with all your heart it's genuinely fun, though going whole hog on it like that is a bit much. if you can't pirate for whatever reason, just get the 1.5 + 2.5 remix; that's got 1, 1.5, 2, and a couple of others, with 1 and 2 being the standouts of the whole franchise. if you don't like 1 you probably won't like the rest, if you like 2 then tough shit the rest of the games are all worse
