>>729107529Because the desert is useless in the case of Prime 4. It added nothing to the game other than a grind. Its filler 'content' they used as an excuse of 'exploration'. SotC had a lot of meticulous detail put into its environments, even with how little there actually is. You could explore that game for years and still find something new. Even the cut content of SotC is full to the brim of stuff.
