>you need a guide to play the gamewhy this is allowed??
i remember playing it on release just fine, pretty sure there were no guides OP
>>729111716I've never once used a guide to play a souls game
shitter.
>>729112281>magicgo kiss OP already faggot
>>729111716the game was designed from the floor up for generating wiki traffic
>>729111716IDK I played it on release and did in fact not need a guide like many other people.>>729113014Your asshole was designed from the floor up to take cock, so there's that.
>>729112669>WAAAH WAAAAAH HOW DARE YOU HAVE FUNseethe.
>post-nerf radahn>post-nerf consort radahn>post-buff skibidi fragmentsYou didn't beat the game.
>>729111716You need a guide to not permanently fuck up all the quests. Yes, every Souls game is the same way.
>>729115643you aren't meant to do them all on your first go. Souls games purposely don't care if you miss things. Its part of their appeal. Go play a checklist Ubisoft game. Probably more your speed
>>729115732They do care. If you fuck up you are permanently locked out of shit. You can be locked out of the true final boss in bloodborne if you happened to get blood from the hooker 3 times and kill fake Iosefka before the blood moon.
Hidetaka Miyazaki's philosophy is to recreate the gaming industry from the NES days. You needed guides and nintendo power to even beat NES games. So yeah.
>>729116902You didn't need Nintendo Power for anything but Simon's Quest.
>>729115643>You need a guide to not permanently fuck up all the quests.Literally the only way you can fuck up quests is to attack NPCs or kill Maliketh
you don't need a guide for er lmao wtf
>>729111716So that when someone plays without a guide you can feel smug and say it was easy for you. Souls games are all about the fantasy of being the guy who says it was easy for them to do a bunch of stupidly punishing bullshit because you looked up an optimal build and cheese strat guide.
>>729116809>They do careThey don't. Its meant to encourage replays>You can be locked out of the true final boss in bloodborne if you happened to get blood from the hooker 3 times and kill fake Iosefka before the blood moon. You aren't meant to get the moon presence ending on your first go. part of the joy of NG+ in the older games was discovering new things, areas, and bosses. I missed Cainhurst entirely on my first playthrough.
>>729117286Exactly, that's another thing you could permanently miss if you're not using the guide. Nobody wants to play the whole fucking game over, so they will have to use a guide.
I beat them all without a guide or wiki though my entry was Dark Souls and a friend did clue me in on a few mechanics like resistance being useless and how weight works. That said yeah you're not 100%ing any of these games unless you open the wiki, I had a blast playing the game again and seeing everything I missed the first time.
>I need to do every quest and see every piece of contentWhat caused this mentality? Back in the PS1 days you'd just beat a game and that was good enough unless it was your second time through. No one was saying "you didn't beat the game if you didn't beat Ruby weapon" at recess.
Why do people play souls games like Banjo-Kazooie?
>>729111775>pretty sure there were no guides OPWrong, some streamers/youtubers get early copies so they can upload guides on release. Actually these games are made with guides in mind, not to mention that they also expect youtubers to fill the gaps in their vague plots so they leave “clues” for them.
>>729111716Because the Soulsfags are toxic and hate the idea of an in-game journal which they claim breaks immersion. According to them, the Tarnished, an immortal warrior capable of challenging and killing a God, is an illiterate peasant that can't read.
>>729119880He is a demented psychopath who just kills anyone who doesn't immediately suck his dick
>>729111775There were guides day fucking one bruh. How the fuck was I supposed to figure Radahn out btw? His castle looks like a normal area with a minor boss, it's just fucking empty, turns out you have find a NPC under a bridge in an optional area and exhaust his dialogue to fight one of the main bosses because fuck you.
>>729117434>Nobody wants to play the whole fucking game over, so they will have to use a guideprior to Elden Ring it was understood that if you didn't get a character up to at least NG+2 you hadn't truly beaten the game yet.
>>729112281I had more trouble with them individually than the duo.
>>729115643>>729117159
>>729117465Pretty sure that's what op meant, even while playing your own way you can find the secrets but there are some stuff that really needs a guide.
>>729120680Radahn isn't required to finish the game.
>>729111716guides ruin the Souls games
>>729120680All that is required to fight him is to reach Altus Plateau
>>729113695>Pre-buff Rykarddidn't beat 'em
>>729123096How was I supposed to know that? He appears in the intro btw. The game stops you from progressing further once, it's only rational to believe it's gonna do that again.>>729123220And how was I supposed to know this? The area was devoid of literally anything so I googled it the fuck up because of how weird it was.
>>729123504I went to Caelid early in my first playthrough. Cleared the castle. Fought the Mibegotten/ Crucible Knight duo. Talked to Jerren and he told me that there would be a festival to honor Radahn soon, and to come back later. So no matter where I was on the map, every once in a while I would warp there and see if the festival had started. Pretty simple. Listen to NPCs. Use your brain.
>>729124414did you miss the "there was absolutely nothing and nobody at the castle" part dude, that's how i found out it's where you start the Radahn fight in the first place1.02 veteran here btw
>>729126047>"there was absolutely nothing and nobody at the castle"Jerren was is always there. I learned of the Festival from Alexander, and then Jerren told me to come back later. Its that simple. I played the game day 1.
>>729126047That's just you being impatient. You could have just fought the boss, and then Jerren would tell you to come back later
>>729117791>see every piece of contentYes. I paid for the game, I deserve to see everything there is in the game.
>>729126614That's what NG+ is for. Guides suck the soul out the experience.
>>729126235>>729126298this is gaslighting
>>729127420>Meet Alexander for the first time>Alexander tells you he is heading east for a festival of warriors>"that sounds cool. I'm going east!">Arrive at Redmane castle and its empty>find a fog wall and go through it>Misbegotten + Crucible knight>"huh maybe the main boss is after these two">beat them and go further in>find Jerren sitting in his chair>"Do you like festivals? Come back later for the festival! Zanzibart, forgive me...heh heh heh">leave and play the game normally>every once in a while warp back to check on things>eventually the festival is happening and you find Alexander there just like he saidThis was my exact experience
>>729127803>Arrive at Redmane castle and its empty...and that was that. The duo didn't spawn (until after Radahn's death), the place with Jerren was inaccessible, the area seemed big enough to warrant some sort of content so I googled it the fuck up.
>>729128119>The duo didn't spawn (until after Radahn's death)Then your game was bugged
>>729123504mad cuz bad
You don't need a guide to beat the game. You don't need a guide to 100% either, but that takes more time. As I said though, you certainly don't need a guide to simply beat the game.
>>729128189Yeah, locking content behind event flags is bad design.
>>729123504>and how was I supposed to know this You were supposed to figure it out, not know it right away. Use your own brain.
>>729111716>you can see it? THE GUIDANCE OF GRACE>every single grace in the game has A FUCKING ARROW POINTING IN THE DIRECTION YOU SHOULD GOYeah really difficult game to progress in. I don't know how anyone managed to beat it.
