Kuru. It’s a brain-wasting prion disease similar to Crutzfeldt-Jakob.
You should be fine as long as you don’t eat the brain, though

>The human body is hardwired against eating other humans
Unironic reddit myth, if that were the case there wouldn't exist hundreds of cultures across the pacific isles and the americas doing it at least a little bit
>>
>>729116548
isn't that the tasty art? That's what zombies say
>>
>>729116227
yes, with specific benefits for eating all the faction leaders
and a "terrifying presence" perk for psychotic dialogue options.
fallout 3 also has some cannibalism, and a quest related to it.
doesn't have the unique psycho dialogue though.

the vast majority of cultures doing that do so in areas where it is difficult to obtain food.
Australia is the big example.
Every aboriginal tribe, as far as explorers could tell, ALL practiced some form of cannibalism.
Usually as something done to the elderly or burdensome infants.
Its an extreme food-conservation measure, and (as far as I know) most of those tribes ritualized it.
For their own, at least.
Sailors and explorers were a different story, and the tribes that ate a few developed a taste for asians over europeans, because the latter had too much salt in their diet (from preserved meat)

It was already explained multiple times, the brain is what's deadly to eat

Papua New Guinea was (and still is) the world's cannibalism capital and the place is a lush jungle whose inhabitants have always had access to domesticated pigs and crops like sugar cane and bananas

>you're not hardwired to avoid disease because sometimes you have to expose yourself to it
I fucking hate autists so much I swear to god
>>
>>729117997
that is because it is the only place with any population that does so for cultural reasons, without a big group of civilized people settling in and incentivizing not being disgusting cannibals.
>>

Eating people is Trans coded
>>
If I was offered human meat right now and it came from an accident or a donor instead of murder then I would eat it immediately
>>
>>729117087
It's because of prion disease, your life is put on a timer once you get it since it starts turning your brain into effectively a useless mass of proteins.
You could also get it if you eat meat from a cow with Mad Cow Disease, so you know, that's something to think about the next time you eat beef.
>>
>>729119778
Native Americans and Polynesians also did it for cultural reasons, some of the natives who did it were even organized in agricultural urban societies and obviously had no food shortages
In conclusion, your claim that it's something that only happens in response to environmental pressure isn't true in the slightest, as literally every single non-aboriginal australian population that did it did so for cultural reasoms

Nobody ever said it only happens in response to environmental pressure.
You are a fucking retard.
>>
>>729122328
anyways to continue, cannibalism STARTS often as either famine or a bunch of crazy fucks get some retarded idea of consuming the strength of their enemies.
it persisted widely regardless of tribal differences in australia due to universal food shortage

Papua fucking new guinea, the "cannibal capital" as you called it, has faced MANY famines across history
A number of those famines have TRIGGERED cannibalism there.
They haven't even had a decent crop to cultivate until sweet potatoes were introduced 150 years ago.
That is ALSO when they started domesticating those pigs you talked about them eating.
So they didn't have pigs OR crops until 150 years ago.

>Because infectious prions are particularly concentrated in the brain, women and children - the primary consumers of the brain matter - had a much higher likelihood of being infected than men, who typically consumed muscle.
you can still get Kuru regardless of the part also some sort of immunity can be acquired after a few generations

>In 2009, researchers at the Medical Research Council discovered a naturally occurring variant of a prion protein (PrnP) in a population from Papua New Guinea that confers strong resistance to kuru.
