It's currently free on EGS. Game play is very slim to say the least, because it's just a matter of exhausting the dialogue options, but it has interesting lore which gels well with the pseudo-vaporwave style. Also a grade A soundtrack. All in all, it's more of a walking simulator with a bit of collectathon elements than a mystery solver, but I loved spending time in that weird island. What other games you would like to see being talked about more?
bumpHere's your chance to talk about games which /v/, let alone other sites, never talk about.
>>729126506I read about this last week but this game has a cool bit of storytelling that fighting games don't usually do. One character doesn't like killing but if you finish your opponents with a lethal move, her reactions go from horrified, to breaking down in tears, to actually enjoying it. It's really neat to see
>>729126506Looked like wokeslopNo thanks tim
>>729129503You'll be missing out on big-titted goat mommy.

>>729126506>It's currently free on EGSstopped reading, buy an ad
>>729129442easily my favorite snk game
>>729126506I played this, its just a shame its sooo fucking woke. It definitely scratched that "Internet-core" media itch, tho.>>729130195Isn't she some lesbian whore, or am I misremembering
>>729132741The protagonist can sleep with her once, even tho it's just a dialogue option and the screen fading to black for a secondI really don't see what's woke about the game tho.
>>729126506I’m currently playing their new game. I’m liking it, it’s a quirky management sim with collectathon elements. It feels like more of a game than Paradise Killer anyway.
>>729126506>>729132741If y’all haven’t played Broken Reality, you should. It’s the same vibe but with varied locations and without the story focus.
>>729133068I bought it on release because I loved Paradise Killer so much but it's been sitting in my library ever since. Dunno, the lack of that beautiful island scenery kinda didn't entice me to try it yet. I wonder if they'll ever make Paradise Killer 2, tho I reckon a sequel is unlikely given how the Syndicate was pruned.>>729133343That too has been sitting in my backlog. I really should play more.
>>729126506it's complete shit and the writer doesn't understand the basics of English grammar. Doesn't understand how to use a comma. Like jfc it's okay if you're dyslexic or even just plain retarded but PLEASE pay an editor
>What other games you would like to see being talked about more?Detective/noir/adventure games. I’m old as fuck now and crave slower paced games with exploration and a bit of drama and puzzle solving. Point and clicks or 3D ones. I just replayed Crimes and Punishments which is still great, and I may replay the Lucius series too, in spite of the jank. Just so much charm.
>>729133862
>>729133409That was a hurdle for me too, since the valor aesthetic was the main draw, but the Mascot game has its own comfy world going on. It’s a small rural Japanese town, but still with a slight Y2K vibe. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
>>729134057Vapor aesthetic*
>>729126506I 100%ed Paradise KillerThe lore is cool and the central conceit of a murder mystery you choose when to resolve by investigating is cool in theory. But in practice there is an actual, definitive answer you can uncover. Getting to that with no reward is frustrating.Definitely worth it for free just to learn about some of the lore. If you want to play the whole thing, it doesn't take too long but there is a lot of backtracking around a vapor wave island. It seems to implicitly assume the player has ingested the or a mild hallucinogen. I played through the bulk of it on a long Amtrak trip in the barcart. Can't imagine playing it fully sober, beyond the last few hours.
>>729126506I played this a while ago but never seen it mentioned here. It's a cool sci fi games where you're looking through files on a wrecked ship trying to figure out what happened with the AI remaining. I like found footage stuff and it kinda has that vibe. Has a sequel but I barely remember it.
>>729134179Beyond the first* few hours
>>729134249I vaguely recall that from waaaaay back in the day. Isn't it about a generational spaceship which devolved into feudal Korean culture?
>>729134249Digital: A Love Story was relatively popular here at the time. the dev really pissed the incels off with Don't Take It Personally, Babe, It's Just Not Your Story though.
>>729134421Yep.>>729134463Can't blame them I skipped that one for obvious reasons. Digital is good too though
