What are your gameplay pet peeves? For me it's vehicle sections. Why do devs insist on including these? They're always the worst part of the game.
Does contardation count as a pet peeve?
I also hate those rooms where you're locked in with a wave of enemies. It's lazy filler. Any game that does this is automatically disqualified from masterpiece status.
>>729132441I was tempted to reply with "skill issue" but it's true that in some games (Neon Inferno being accurate) forced vehicle segments just suck.
Forced stealth segments where you lose your equipment/skills.>>729132669As much as I've been having fun with Silksong I don't like how there one of these in almost every area. The Greymoor one especially can eat my ass.
>>729132441My pet peeves are retarded NPC escort quests or in RTS's those "protect the retarded convoy" missions.
>>729132441>branching paths with no prior indication that they're permanent and will lock you out of content for a significant period of time if not the entire run until NG+>games where RNG matters more than skill execution>turn based games with no speedup animation options>weapon durability outside of survival crafting games>unskippable cutscenes>dialogue can't be mashed through or outright skipped>game doesn't allow you to disable damage numbers (especially egregious and strange when developers put a lot of effort into vfx/sfx)>"adds a small 1.05% chance of dealing 12% damage in 25.14% of the situations">RPG systems and skill trees/fake build variety in action games (dark souls)
>>729133648that section was kinda poggers tho
Dropping your currency/exp when you die. It sinks, stop doing it
>>729132441As much it's memed as anti-consumer, I hate always online garbage because it makes it such a pain to play on my deck. Bought the old Need for Speed 2016, the good one. Every time I close and reopen it, I gotta sit through 2 minutes of being told I got DC'd, booted to the main menu, then reconnect and go back to the track I was doing. >>729133950>branching paths with no prior indication that they're permanent and will lock you out of contentThis, too. It's why I struggle with most class-based MMOs unless I've got a whole group playing with me>Play MMO>Pick mage>Have fun>See hunter doing cool hunter stuff>Wish I could do that stuff too>Would have to sink another 50 hours to do thatFF14 got it right with "change class whenever the hell you want" >game doesn't allow you to disable damage numbers (especially egregious and strange when developers put a lot of effort into vfx/sfx)This sucks too. Damage numbers and min maxers ruined Monster Hunter for me
>>729132441>turn based rpg>multiple enemies>attack enemy 1 with your party >first attack kills >rest of party attacks the empty spot instead of enemy 2
>>729136624what should the punishment for dying be instead?
>>729136694You go back to your last checkpoint and have to do that part again
>>729132441Taking control of my character away meStuns usually qualifyA big one was the ragdoll after being knocked down in Breath of the WildIt makes me rage far more than simply dying or losing
>>729136636You can turn off damage numbers in MH though, what are you talking about
>>729132669So you hate every beatemup in existence.
>>729136636Damage numbers are just soulless in MH true, but minmaxxing is literally encouraged by the game loop. Quests have a timer for a reason and optimizing your hunts is normal, you don't need to be a speedrun tranny. Monster Hunter had organic DPS indicators before World
