Today, Award nominee Emil Pahliarulo and his team of writers in Bethesda chipped away another day's worth of labour towards writing the script and dialogue for Fallout 5
>>
What a terrible game
>>
>>729135249
Still better writing than Troon Vegas
>>
How is writing hard? Why don't they just plagiarize something good?
>>
>>729135249
How is there no blood on her at all? Even GoldenEye 007 could dynamically draw blood decals on enemy models.
Games have more and more polygons, but go backwards in terms of functionality.
>>
>>729135249
I like how the gave autistic individuals a realistic response with 4
>>
>>729135673
If they fired Emil and just used ChatGPT in his place, the improvement in quality would be vast.
>>
>>729135697
because dev teams are now full of mediocre women who just don't give a fuck about creating anything good, only about unearned headpats and cute lattes
>>
>>729135249
>[Medicine] Is this... BLOOD?!
>>
>>729135673
Here's the really sad thing, anon
They think they are plagiarizing something good
That thing unfortunately is Netflix original series
>>
>>729135697
>>729135925
Wasn't this game 90% made by pajeets?
>>
>>729135697
Starfield is juat a very bloodless game in general
>>
>>729135935
>[Medicine] Why are you covered in ketchup? Oh... oh no no no no...
>>
>>729136000
not the worst parts of the game, which is the story/setting/dialogue
I'm not saying that jeets are a good thing for the industry, but they're less of a problem than useless femoids that western companies are forced to employ for diversity reasons
>>
>>729135673
Plagiarism is hard to pull off well as:
>copy too closely and you'll get buttfucked by lawsuits
>copy the wrong things and the style clash between your own writing and the plagiarised work makes it evident you copied
>copy too loosely and you have a worse product than writing your own thing
Writing (for others) is also hard as you need to create a convincing world full of characters that hook the consumer. Relatability is the easiest way to do that but when you just aim for relatable you dilute the story with reference to things which is worse than writing unrelatable characters.
>>
>>729135249
So someone just died in front of you, youre starting to panic. In your own words, what would be appropriate reaction to this? And how would you deal with the situation further?
>>
>>729135249
kek every time I forget this is a real screenshot and laugh as I remember
>>
>>729135249
Is there a single good writer left at Bethesda
>>
>>729136000
Jeet outsourcing is for modeling/texturing and occasionally code, Starfield being a shit game was unfortunately the result of Bethesda's dev team writing at a 3rd grade level
>>
>>729135995
Shit.... you're right.
>>
>>729136448
>you're starting to panic
This is the problem. The writer is already deciding how the player is supposed to feel, instead of giving multiple options to allow the player to express their character as they see fit. In this regard, Emil is a serial offender.
>>
>>729136448
the screenshot implies the player character has medical training. he should try to use his medical training.
>>
>>729135865
>You can fly, you can shoot, you can mine, you can loot!
But they're already using ChatGPT, at least for customer service.
>>
>>729136839
You do have other options.
>>

it's easy, they just hire DEI retards and if you call out their bad product you get fired. that's why Concord failed. And modern ubishit games.

Its even funnier than merely pretending
>>
>>729136892
In a superficial sense, yes, but they are all different flavours of being sad, melodramatic and concerned about Sarah, all lead to the same railroaded outcome. Where's the option where your character doesn't give a shit? Better yet, where is the medicine option that actually helps and saves Sarah?
>>
>>729135249
>Sarah, it's me. It's me, Sarah
what a coincidence, he doesn't look like a Sarah though.
>>
>>729135249
Didn't he leave?
>>
>>729135697
Don't worry, Creation Engine is very capable. Some guy on reddit told me it's perfect for games in this decade.
>>
>>729137192
Pete Hines (does not write the game in any capacity) left, not Emil

I still can't believe I wasted almost 2 hours on this piece of shit. One of the most boring games I've ever played.
>>
>>729137249
creation engine is not the reason that modern Bethesda are lazy pieces of shit and don't care enough to make a believable scene

This would be a failed medicine check in New Vegas for comedic effect, yet in Starfield it is presented as a valid option that players should dedicate their skill points in medicine for.
>>
>>729137249
Do you think the engine is incapable of loading textures? Because it can in fact load textures.

It's very pathetic when Serana is the high point of modern Bethesda character writing.
>>
>>729137192
Emil is being groomed to take over as lead director when Todd retires.
>>
>>729137542
Creation Engine is made by Bethesda and is shit because Bethesda.

>>729137590
>>729137656
Just a simple decal like in Skyrim would look ridiculous too, but better than fucking nothing. NPCs are always clean in this game.
Even the blood in the floor from OP looks like something from PS3.

Godd will never forsake us.

>>729137542
>>729137590
That screenshot is of one of the best selling games of all time. It's success has reinforced their worst traits. Maybe the failure of Starfield will jolt them from their delusions, but I doubt it. The sheer corruption of that studio will not allow them to correct course.
>>
>>729137859
>NPCs are always clean in this game.
that shit always bothered me, even if you install a gore mod they still look squeaky clean
shit like this is common too

>>729137927
I would say that Oblivion and Skyrim started a ton of bad trends in the industry in general, not just at Bethesda. As Todd once famously said
>People will buy anything. That doesn't mean you should do it, but they will buy anything. That sounds terrible, but it is the truth.

Because it is PS3 tech. Gamebr- err Creation Engine is extremely outdated, despite how much Bethesda fans love to cope by claiming it's fine. It's tech-debt: the engine.

>>
>>729135673
Writing a video game requires theory of mind and empathy that goes on a spectrum of understanding spanning everything from
>ball and gun nigger bought the wrong game to giga autismo will dedicate the rest of his life to this game's lore
>>729136448
Well, it isn't *ME* who's in the game, it's a character I play that should have dialogue options that allow roleplay.
It could be a stone cold sociopath
>whatever, I'll clean up the blood later.
It could be the deceased's lover
There could still be hope to save her life with enough medical skill
>>729137249
If you ever as much as opened the GECK or Creation Kit you'd see it's a powerful tool
Bethesda's developers however are doing the equivalent of shoving a swiss army knife up their ass in how they don't use any of the tools it offers, but instead make gay retard fun that's shit covered
