>if you watched a YouTube video, you didn't beat the game
>if you used cheats, you didn't beat the game
>if you used quicksave, you didn't beat the game
>if you used time-saving hacks and mods, you didn't beat the game
>if you used a walkthrough or guide, you didn't beat the game
>if you didn't play it on the original hardware, you didn't beat the game
>if you didn't play it on a long weekend in August 1999, you didn't beat the game
Where does it end? Can games even be beaten?

Hello, samefag.
At least try to sound like a different poster next time.

>Your job is to review games
>"Let's make this task as difficult as possible!"
Really makes you wonder why everyone was so fucking mad.... About people who's "job" was/is to hand out 9.9/10 participation awards to every fucking AAA game... They only actually reviewed indie-shit nobody cared about at the time.

>if you used time-saving hacks and mods
This is my argument for all of your points basically, OP.
IDGAF about their opinion, I value my time more than their fucking video game "honour" and I'll outright use cheat engine to bypass 99% of the grind in any RPG if I have to.

>if you didn't beat it during the sweltering Summer of '92, you didn't beat the game
How is that fair? Have you ever thought that I might've been busy around that time?

>if you watched a YouTube video, you didn't beat the game
This one is absolutely baffling to me. I understand looking up a guide when you REALLY get stuck, but people watch their dogshit streamers play their games, and also use guides just to replicate everything in their own playthroughs and then they pretend like they beat the game.
>Inb4 you cant dictate how people choose to have fun
I CAN, AND I WILL!!!!!

Watching an 8 hour youtube video saved me 70+$ on Deadly Premonition 2, I regret and missed nothing (aside from the 8 hours I wasted on a shit sequel)
You will never convince me my opinion isn't invalid. I had a feeling the game would be shit when the characters started quoting Friedrich Nietzsche within the first 30 seconds, and I was right. Every aspect of that game is a piece of shit compared to the original (which I did play, multiple times in fact)

I will NEVER play deadly premonition 2, but I might re-watch it if I'm drunk/high enough, only after replaying the first, and only because "the story" (which even in the original, wasn't amazing, but at least forgivably charming)

Why would you do that over quietly reporting? Retard
>>
>>729139527
Cause I'm a retard like you said. Why ask questions you know the answer to retard?

Just curious, why the fuck would you rewatch a 8 hour long video about a game that you clearly hate? Did the video trash it the entire time so it was funny or something?
>>
>>729139748
Ya I do hate it
>Might / if
>High / drunk
>Because it's a pre/sequel that actually (sort of) wraps up (parts of) the story of the first that I don't fully remember.
>The second game is literally 1/2 visual novel 'watch the cutscene' "game" and 1/2 "the first game but shittified for the switch 1" in 2 different time-frames.
I could even only watch the before / after bits and skip the actual plot/mystery of the sequel adventure itself.

It was a full-playthrough no-commentary video. So it wouldn't be 8 hours the second time since I know the gameplay is all shit and can skip between cutscenes (which is most of the game anyways) I skipped a decent amount the first time since the "bosses" were basically the same copy pasted segment.

Yes. If you are changing the game through third-party means in order to remove the challenge, or are looking at guides to do all the thinking for you, then yes, you're not even playing a game at that point, you're watching a movie.
The least you could do is just swallow your pride and say "Yeah, this game wasn't really for me/I wasn't willing to put the time into it to beat it, so I used mods to change some things." but for some reason you feel like it's necessary to defend yourself and insist that you're a real tried and true gamer.
