You know what people don't hate enough?PS2 racing game controls.>Ohhhh look we have this pressure sensitive buttons gimmick so you HAVE to press the X button uncomfortably hard for the entire race. Don't even think of letting up even a little bit or you lose :^) This is necessary even though no arcade style racer has ever invented a reason to not fully accelerateWhat the fuck was their problem?
>>729137632>hating on ps2 racing games
>>729137632This fucked me up in gt4 a lot, even if you want to control your accel its terrible using a fucking tiny button to hit a specific range of throttle. Emulating and rebinding to triggers is a lifesaver
>>729137929I fucked up my controller trying to win the driving mini games in the bee movie game.
>>729137632how many racing games on the ps2 make use of that shit? just gt?
I never had this problem
>>729137929could sworn the gran turismo ps2 games let you reconfigure the controls. or at the very least, i had a-spec and i swear it did
>>729137632>so you HAVE to press the X button uncomfortably hard for the entire race.check for arthritis unc
>>729137632I do, as a racist video game player, this is the main reason I prefer the Xbox for playing racing games. Racing games are objectively better on Xbox over PS2 and Gamecube to a lesser extent because of the triggers. I HATE using analog sticks and pressure sensitive buttons to accelerate and brake. I've said this for 20 years across various forums.
>>729138432GT1 and GT2 let you use the analog stick for throttle, so I'm guessing you could do the same for the PS2 games
>>729137632Make you able to precisely tune your jumps, to bind multiple actions on one button ( mgs3 ) and to play driving simulators ( gt3-gt4 ).Cope.
>>729139741oh and controllers lasted a long time and weren't prone to drifting issues :)
You don't have to press that hard but if you weren't a newfag shitter you were already used to using the right stick from the PS1 anyways.
>>729138248You can do that in GT if you want but any normal human being is just going to use the right stick to control the gas pedal
>>729138248GT and Burnout 3 at leastIt's worse in Burnout 3
>>729137632why do browns hate pressure sensitive button so much? IQ too low?
>>729139774operator error. Not a single controller I have, be is ps, xbox or nintendo has ever had drift. Take care of your hardware instead of being a neanderthal that abuses it.
>>729138248literally gta, at least vice city
>>729137632It's baffling how many early 3D games on PS2 just absolutely refused to use the right stick for camera controls. Or sometimes even refused to have camera rotation at all.
>>729144472I'm playing Maximo right now and it literally only has one camera button that centers the camera in front of youTo be fair it was meant to be an N64 game but even fucking Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie used the C-buttons for camera
>>729144634Holy shit that was EXACTLY one of the foremost games that came to mind for me, I recently restarted it myself.
>>729144712That's honestly my only issue with it, very fun game
>>729144829I also don't like how often the camera is at a slight tilt. It reminds me of Battlefield Earth. while Capcom was learning to use the right stick in their game, Nintendo was training to CONQUER analog cameras!
>>729143659There's no reason not to just floor it 100% of the time in Burnout, so I don't know why they even bothered.
>>729137632I hate it and for most games on pcsx2 there no fix you have to buy shitty DualShock 2/3 to play them. Sorry nips but my hands are of normal size and I would feel nothing but pain by using your crappy gamepads and break your buttons by being forced to hold them for way too long.
>>729145205The fix is just using any non-DS2/DS3 controller, PCSX2 defaults every button to full pressure except for analog triggers so I don't understand your problem
>>729138248ace combat has that for thrust which is pretty infuriating. you have to hold R1 really hard for full thrust. I think I rebind it to R2 but it's still really annoying.
>>729137632I hate that I can't find a brand new Dualshock 2 anymore. I don't want a different controller, all the other ones I try don't feel the same, it's literally perfect
>>729147247You can find ones that have been fully cleaned on eBay at least
okay unc
>>729147159The only pressure sensitive buttons on PS2 were the face buttons and dpad.
I've got one of these with only shitty games. Is there any easy way of jailbreaking it? I want to play KH2 and FFX
>>729137632That was annoying.
