You can turn up and turn down the random encounter rate, so if you just want to move on you can turn it down (or off completely) and if you want to grind you can crank it all the way up. You can 4x and I think 8x battle speed, and even "program" in a turn order to just auto-battle a set command list to make grinding brainless. And there's tons of jobs to collect Job XP for and max out/pair up.The story is pretty basic outside the twist and all the characters are fairly one-note. Well, outside the twist.It's a JRPG of JRPG enjoyers and people who just really enjoy grinding fights and playing around with job combinations. I would never recommend it to somebody who's not into JRPGs. But if you end up liking JRPGs or just really want to mess with the job system, go ahead and give it a try. Just note that it can feel a bit grindy and repetitive if you aren't used to that.
