Has anyone ever actually bothered doing a "true" ending that requires like a hundred different specific obscure things instead of just playing the game normally?Surely not, right?I've never done that, it sounds like a major waste of time.
>>729139140Just watch it on youtube
>>729139140>play the game normally and enjoy the experience>look up the true ending on youtube after you're done in 1 minute instead of spending 100 hours going through the game again reading a step by step guide all just to get a single slightly different 1 minute cutscene at the endproblem solved
>>729139140The third act from silksong is like that. Lots of arbitrary things must be completed to get the "true" ending.
Smt4 neutral ending
>>729139227I got the neutral ending on my first playthrough by just answering the questions truthfully like I would irl, kek.
>>729139140Yes I like it when games have a lot of playable content
Noita's 33 orb ending, ESPECIALLY the part involving the RNG/End of Everything exclusive orb. It's a journey of constant and never ending fuck yous to the player.
>>729139140Are there any examples of the inverse being true? The bad ending being hard to get?
>>729139140Do people not replay games anymore? That's sad. If you don't have a habit of playing the same game more than once then you will always have a basic surface-level understanding of every single game you play.
>>729139932I barely have time to play games as is, I'm not playing the same game again. No one got time for that.
>>729139140i have an idea
>>729140000If you have time to play a different game then you have time to play the same game again. Also wasted quads.
>>729139140Am I weird for not giving a shit about video game endings? They're rarely interesting and I'm finished with the game at that point either way.
>>729140037I swear there is a game that was just this but I can’t remember it
>>729140037isn't this undertale?
>>729139918Abe's Exoddus (and Oddysey, I think?) has something like that. There is the good ending (save more than you kill). There is the bad ending (kill more than you save),There is the "perfect" ending, which is actually just the same good ending, but you get an extra screen at the end credits (save everyone). However, there is also the "worst" ending. It involves you killing everyone who's possible to kill (it's not possible to kill every single mudokon). It sounds easy, but it's not that easy, it basically involves you going out of your way to murder every single mudokon, some of which might not really been intended to be killed, which also involves you finding every single hidden zone just like you would for the golden ending. If you do all that, you still get the usual bad ending, but then you also get an extra screen and on starting the new game you actually get a prize: total invulnerability. So it's almost like an anti-golden ending.Could also argue that Undertale's Genocide ending is more obscure and obtuse to get than the best ending. Depending on whether Deltarune's Snowgrave will actually end up being a "bad" ending, that one is definitely difficult and very byzantine to get..
>>729139918>>729140037>>729140405>>729140861Drakengard sure is a game that exists.
>>729140348No that's normal, 99% of the players just finish the game and get an ending and don't give a shit about anything else since endings are usually just like a shitty small cutscene.
>>729140861>Could also argue that Undertale's Genocide ending is more obscure and obtuse to get than the best endingnever played ithow hard is it to even unlock that ending? from what i've heard it just requires killing everything you encounter
>>729141431Not exactly, Killing everything you encounter just nets you a neutral ending. This is more like "killing literally everyone possible to kill", which basically means running around randomly for 40 minutes at each location until you just stop getting random encounters because everyone is dead.Which is something you likely wouldn't do (unless you're very bored) or wouldn't just randomly discover by playing the game normally. You also have to give specific responses at certain moments, although that one's easy. Basically the game has multiple checks and failing even one disbars you from getting that ending.Oh, and doing that also changes the story and triggers the hardest bosses in the game, which might be a bit too hard for a casual Undertale player/streamer.Deltarune's route is different and basically involves you doing some pretty random esoteric actions (kind of similar to Drakengard) and then having a lot of checks on those and you having to follow through. The game does lampshade how to get the route, but it actually happens a chapter later than when it's supposed to start, so it's probably meant for a second playthrough (hard to tell what the intention here is since the game isn't even over yet).
>>729139140I got the neutral ending of SMT IV my first time playing but mostly accidentally. I had managed to get the neutral alignment needed without consulting any guides which apparently is tough to do, and I was already completing most side content just for fun. so eventually when I was near the end I was looking online and realized I almost fulfilled the requirements and only had to go out of my way to do a handful of extra side quests to get it.
>>729141046Yoko Taro has a funny sense of humor. Ending B is an absolutely KINO bad ending
>>729139140KreisReise requires you to constantly return back to that one hidden room to interact with this one NPC until you're finally able to get a special item that's required for the True Ending. It wouldn't be so bad it if wasn't so time sensitive and the game is too obscure for a guide to tell you when it's too late. You also need to collect every item in the game (excluding health and sein upgrades, but those are a mandatory due to have insanely difficult the game is) by the time the escape sequence starts then quickly make your way to that hidden room to talk with that NPC once more. Wait for their speech to finish then quickly is that one special attack when you get teleported before the timer runs out. After that you need to return back to the hidden, but this time without the ability to dash which sucks balls because there's some tight as fuck jumps you have to do. Collect the last item then go back to a specific room within the library section of the game. More tight as fuck jumps. If you die before meeting one last NPC, you have to restart the entire Normal Final Boss Fight. Also the True Ending's final area makes Cave Story's Hell section look like a tutorial level and the True Final Boss is super bullshit. And one more final thing. The True Ending pulls a "The End?" bullshit and unlocks an achievement page on the other log page under the records menu on the title screen. Want to know what happens if you clear all the achievements? Lol, the 10 or so people that beat the True Final Boss also wants to know because I bet not one single soul on this planet has ever clear all achievements. Have fun doing BS challenges like "beat this one bullshit boss without losing health", "clear under 60 minutes", "clear with under 15% items collected", or my favorite one "no dashing" which I'm certain is impossible and the dev is just trolling.
>>729141659doesn't seem that absurd beyond the "kill every random encounter" thing
>>729140732No
>>729139918Some Disgaea games are kinda like that to a lesser degree. The good endings is just play the game like normal with all the bad or bonus endings have you go out of your way to do stuff like>Adell having 99 felonies and over 99 Ally Kills, one of which must be Rozalin
>>729139140stop posting this twitter lgbt image. you people are underage twitter faggots for unironically interacting with these threads.
>spam threads are good when they are from twitter or redditif a 4channer drew this someone would post another screenshot of all the threads with the same images already. why does 4chan hate their own sites?
>>729139140Getting the 100% completion ending in Final Fantasy X-2 is genuinely the most bullshit in a video game I've ever experienced.
>>729139932>then you will always have a basic surface-level understanding of every single game you playOh no
