You need a solid base in case you are charged and tackled which is very real possibility when you're dealing with pistols. Jill in the OG trilogy was capable and competent but still characterized as a sissy girl. She started with a taser and needed Barry's help just like Rebecca needed Chris's help. Her stance is decent but she'd topple quickly if anything got close to her IRL. Chris is a lot bigger and more aggressive so he'd be fine in weaver if a zombie got close.

It's actually accurate to reality, units will contract retired guys or just TDY active duty operator types to do a few weeks of training all the time. It's not that big of a deal and they don't do much beyond give some pointers and try to iron out bad habits for enlisted support. Jill probably got a few weeks of supportive training and then was sent back to her regular job. I can't recall if her MOS was ever specified but she doesn't act or look like she'd have ever been in SF for real. She may have been an admin or logistics or supply type that got attached for a few months and was doing base support.

If he can pop an accurate headshot across the hall with weaver, he'd do that. In reality, combat is situational and proper stances go to the wayside. You do what you have to do to survive. Perfect form is a range meme. If you need to prop your rifle up on a brick wall or squeeze behind some shitty cover and keep shooting you will not concern yourself with whether you're doing it like it's on the range. You'll hold the gun however you need to. If weaver enables Chris to py corners better and make longer shots, he'd fall back weaver. In the situation he found himself in, I'd probably use weaver too. If I used isoc I'd keep the gun ridiculously close to my chest whenever I entered a new room. I wouldn't concern myself with forward facing my body armor because they're not shooting at me, they're zombies.
