Why is the gaming community full of assholes?
Thirdies and nongamers
>>729147010because you're in it
>>729147010It’s a low effort hobby
Every community is full of assholes because people are assholes. Eventually I will be able to surround myself with nothing but conversational AI and possibly simulate entire online “communities” that, despite being entirely fake, would have a higher quality than anywhere else currently on the internet
>>729147010different tastes and clashing opinions ( very strong opinions )
>>729147424would just be fake assholes
LOL
>>729147010>Redditbob
>>729147010>4chanbob
>>729147010I'm just naturally a prick that's why insults don't work on me, if anything it just proves what I do is working
>>729147010To gatekeep normalfags like (You), now go back.
>Gaymen>AssholesReally makes you think
>>729151535I didn't give you permission to post Needless
>>729147010something happened to gaming discourse this decade. everyone became a prick.
>>729147010It's the hobby that's best suited to facilitate entitled brats that are looking for escapism. They're here because they already can't handle other people or think nothing beyond "ME ME ME," so they'll try to yell at everyone else to fall in line too.
>>729148779Spongebob is /v/ coded
>>729147010because the gaming community is also full of retards and some gatekeeping is necessary
>>729152093Oh this one's actually really easy to answer: the Angry Market absolutely exploded. Algorithmically-driven websites like Youtube and Twitter feed on engagement and spit out profit were heavily geared towards negativity instead. It goes beyond just "I'm gonna shitpost and be a contrarian in a video essay" or stuff like that, as that would be contained to the website. Instead, now everything on the internet is potential fodder to be brought back to those places to be all "Such and such situation is crazy" or "Look at these retards that actually think such and such" or "Such and such is in video game/community, the community has fallen" and so on.This then leads to not only people constantly on the watch/jumping into negative situations in order to pick up material or be on top of things, but also for a lot of people to just instigate shit and try to force things in order to have that content and screencaps and so on. If you ever though>wow /v/ is trying even harder than ever to unnaturally force "OH NO NO NO" posting with this gameIt's because someone is trying to create the context in which to get an epic and sassy 4chan post to bring back to their account and make a quick buck.
>>729147010Normie retards have ruined the medium so once you learn about certain niche games it permanently turns you against them for life and you are incapable of treating them nicely, knowing the damage they have done and wish to continue doing. You really don't understand how big of a problem oblivious moron secondaries have become for this medium. The entire industry has been bending over backwards to chase that idiot for over 20 year and it has essentially removed all quality and fun for the sake of monetizing the sacred retard.Ask stupid questions, get furious hate-filled answers. You dumb fucking bitch.
>>729152386>Normie
>>729152163Interesting that it's your chosen hobby, faggot.
>>729152402NORMALFAGGOT NIGGERSIS THAT BETTER?YOU FUCKING BACTERIAL COLONY
>>729152536>Is that better? Would be if you did it the first time around. You're permanently out of the running now for this thread (or at least this post chain) due to your slip-up, but you can always try better next time. Ganbatte!
>>729152536Yes, but you didn't have to be mean about it
>>729152476Not really. I'm not part of the problem. I actually enjoy other people and have been known to play multiplayer games quite often, when the time permits. I even have my own dedicated server to host a lot of games on. It's quite nice.
>>729152352the Angry Market makes me so hopping mad
>>729152402We have seditionist far-left radicals that have proudly infiltrated 4chan moderation and routinely ban people over the tiniest infraction just because it suits their agenda.Naughty harsh language really can get you banned for "trolling outside of /b/" there is nothing you will be able to do about it because the sharty-run site outage did not teach the mods a single fucking thing about how dangerous and disruptive it is to hire political ideologues for social media moderation. This is why I don't say "fag" at the end of words anymore. I have been since 2004.Psychotic retards have been allowed to restrict away the culture. This is your problem.
>>729152352It's worse than you think. If /v/ is trying harder than usual now, "the usual" was already exactly what you described. It goes back years.
>>729152780Shut up, you niggerfag
>>729152736>Posting smug anime reaction images while exclusively feigning superiority and belittling as many people as you canNo. You're definitely part of the problem.
>>729152780>We have seditionist far-left radicals that have proudly infiltrated 4chan moderation and routinely ban people over the tiniest infraction just because it suits their agenda.I was banned thrice in the past month alone for going against obvious /pol/shit whilst the threads stayed up.
>>729152824Say this in the wrong place and you'll be banned by a traitorous anti-4chan double agent mod. Give it time. It happens to me a couple times a year now.
>>729147010Tendies
>>729152850>interprets an image of someone having fun as "smug"Grim.
>>729152860No you were deliberately discussing politics and pushing leftism on the video game board and probably were justly banned.
>>729147010Third worlders. It's always been third worlders. It will always be third worlders.
>>729152937>Posts more smug reaction images >Feigns more superiorty while actually being dumb as a brickThanks for proving my point.
>>729152992I don't recall all of them but certainly one was inarguably about video games and video game culture. I was joining ongoing discussions every time. And every time my post was the only one removed for being "off-topic" even though the topic itself was allowed to stay up. It's simply a fact that /v/ jannies and mods tacitly allow /pol/ to shit up the place by selectively enforcing the rules. You were probably justly banned for trolling, though.
>>729153052Your point is that you're upset. You haven't even actually argued against any of the points, nor the topic of discussion, you're just trying to flip the script, which is in turn a tacit admission that you felt the initial description described you in the first place and thus felt the need to insert yourself opposite of me at the table--and with every reply you make, you only further prove that it applies to you with each reply you make. This is the last reply you'll get out of me, so here, take my Lina. This is an anime image I actually am posting to be smug, as she is my favorite.
>>729147010Vidya used to be a niche hobby for people who love to tinker with computers, games were an extension of that, they respected you and were made by other working people in spare time. And now games are made "for everyone", which means no one. They fill no one's hearts and it angers everyone.
>>729147010>communityWhy does everything have to be a community to you faggots? >leave my apartment community>exit onto the sidewalk community>people on the street and car community sure are spreading a lot of carbon emissions >go to my job community>browse my reddit community while im at my breaktime communitySome times there is no community in those spaces. Sometimes a video game lobby is just a video game lobby. A random collection of men bashed together to shout slurs at each other as God intended.
We didn't gatekeep hard enough
>>729153431>A random collection of men bashed together to shout slurs at each other as God intended. This only existed in the 7th Gen of video games and for consolefags, which is the exact opposite of what God intended.
>>729153595That was the garden of eden. Our promised land. We were all denied entry because we were unworthy.Anyway, why is it that every time someone goes out of their way to label something dumb shit as a "community" it's 100% never something that looks like what would have traditionally been described as a community? Comes across as a fat cope that says "i have nothing going on outside of this thing".
