What's your favorite RPG class?
Stfu homo
>>729149252Cleric.
>>729149252Necromancer
>>729149252Warlock cuz I’m evil, nigga!
>>729149252Wizard because i'm vanilla as fuck
>>729149421You're vanilla? I like to play Fighter. I'm glad modern RPGs have made Wizards cooler, so I don't always have to be a Fighter. Look at BG3, for example. The default Fighter is Lae'zel and the default Wizard is Gale. It made me actually try Wizard for once, and it's not bad at all. >Haste lets you cast two spells a turn>enemies can explode from being blasted by spells (if you have Cull the weak)
>>729149252Druid
>>729149252fighting man
>>729149819Wtf is that clothing design
>>729149252I always like the fighter/mage spellblade types.
>>729149252Smug hotshot paladin/noble
a warrior, it doesn't get more based than that. It does war.
Shadow Priest from TBC/Wrath era. I never saw a class like this in any other game
>>729149252Barbarian if the game lets me unga-bunga in combat, dialogue and puzzles.Rogue if it’s a fake rpg but where stealth is a viable option.Wizard (preferably warlock) for anything else
>>729149252I like druids
>>729149357Almost never done properly>>729149252Kineticist/melee or warlock/witch multiclassing sorceror/bard
>>729150981>fake rpgHuh?
Paladin
>>729149252Magus. Wish more rpgs had it and not just Pathfinder.
>>729149252Snake oiler
>>729151706Basically any rpg that forces you to follow a specific narrative instead of making your own choice (eg Skyrim)
>>729149252In theory Dragoon. Monster hunting knight that can jump high designed to fight big boss monsters. But it's usually not implemented as well as it could be.
>>729151805What's a Paladin?
>>729152896Knight but casts white magic and buffs.
>>729149252Bard
Necromancer if not turn-based and brawler if turn-based
>>729149252In vidya, almost always Wizard just because it tends to be the most mechanically and visually interesting. On actual table top I like playing Rogues as long as the DM isn't just dumping buckets of enemies on the party every 20 minutes and we actually do proper dungeon crawling.
>>729152948...
Barbarian or monk. I want to hit shit.
>>729152007Like jrpg? Ye, that's filth. Some story choices are appreciated.
>>729152794Curious about your ideas
>>729149707Fighter mains are contrarians, Wizard mains are vanilla.
>>729153334Give Dragoon moves that are strong against bosses but weak against mobs and multi-enemies. Bonuses against weakness exploits or forcing a weakness for instance, but give him now AoE skills or make jump very strong but random so it's not practical against mobs.
>>729149252Monk or Fighter/Barbarian most of the time. Paladin/Cleric if the setting is fighting a evil/demonic force; just feels right. I would love Druid but I never found a game that does it right. Druid always feel limited in choices; you can be a Bear or a Mouse (it's always fucking bears) and feels like a Green Healer too often but having nature on your side should be OP if played right.
>>729153576Jump scales with enemy height physically. Flying enemies are forced to the ground and gain added weakness to earth attacks when they get jumped. Meanwhile ground based mooks that are relatively short take relatively low damage from jump.
>>729151663Games where its done properly?I've seen people say the Necromancer in ToME is pretty good
Barbarian/artificer multiclass. But a more real answer would be mages.
>>729149252Any magic user. The more freedom with spells the better
>>729149252High-charisma blaster mage.
>>729149252martial artist rougespellbladeor anything unique like thatalso the nobody class
A skill monkey. I want to talk people down when I need to, pass a check I want to pass, open a chest good loot, cast a spell I need to cast.Combat performance is secondary. Usually that means some kind of charisma caster hybrid.
the one that lets me be a mischievous spell caster
>>729149252Paladin/Necromancer dualclass.Yes. That's right DM.Make that work.
>>729153020What's a bard?
>>729153576>strong against bosses but weak against mobsLove it.
>>729156928Charisma character that uses learned tunes to grant buffs to allies and charm enemies. Typically can use swords to a decent extent, so it's basically a party buff spell sword.
If it's multiplayer, priest. I'm one of nature's healsluts. If it's single player, necromancer. I like summoning minions.Basically I like standing in the back and being a sexy cheerleader while others do the fighting for me.
>>729156519>anything unique like thatGuy what Punches ShitGuy what Back Stabs/Poisons/Throws shitGuy what is Magic Swordsman"Unique"Meanwhile, at ToME>Stone Warden, Dorf what uses Two Shields and Magic>Oozemancer, guy what summons slimes and spits acid>Temporal Warden, class designed around rapidly changing from melee to ranged combat while using Time magic to become Zoom>Writing One, guy what the fuck https://te4.org/wiki/Writhing_One Has a power to burst his puss filled boils at enemies and gets a Worm That Walks companion
>>729157025In some ttrpg they are spies and scholars and tavern owners and prostitutes aso.
>>729157361>Guy whatThat*Anon i meant stuff like the goth duo from Look Outside or the cockroach in a jacket from the same game, i mentioned what i did because they're the ones that are general enough to have any meaning to anons here
Tabaxi ArtificerCat with the gat.
Evil wizard/warlock. Edgier the better
someone post the white male knight greentext
>>729149252Healtank / Cleric, since it means I can survive and can keep other party members alive. Generally a tank character with some healing capabilities is more useful than a mainline healer that can't take a hit, because the tank can heal characters outside battle if needed, but it largely depends on the game.Cryomancer / Ice Mage is pretty fun as well, especially if it's a game where you can reliably avoid getting attacked and when ice magic has secondary effects.>>729153079Spoony hasn't been relevant for decades. Don't feel say that modern /v/ doesn't know who that is anymore.
I like Gish but leaning more to the ones that buff themselves to hit harder.
>>729150230have you seen any modern tv show
>>729156928>What's a bard?A miserable little pile of secrets
Slayer
>>729149357i recently played grimdawn as a necromancer and it was boring as fuck
Love the skillset of paladins. Hate the roleplay aspect of paladins
>>729149252MELEE FIGHTINGREAT SWORD WEILDINSIDE QUEST COMPLETINTHOT REJECTINNEUTRAL GOOD BEINPRINCESS SAVINWHITE MAN
>>729149252hammer
>>729160952 Yeah, unfortunately. Every show feels like it's written by a group of people who've never met a human being before. Characters talk in Twitter threads, the plots are just recycled fanfics of better shows, and every third scene is a slow zoom while someone has a breakdown because "trauma." It's like AI wrote it-and not the cool kind that argues about paladins and necromancers with /v/.
>>729162671our time will come soon
>>729163230>two more weeks!it's time to accept that poor education generates less genre savvy writers.
>>729161487
>>729161057Have at you!Bards can be basically anything from rogue to mage to sorceror.
>>729161307minion classes in ARPGs are always boring as sin to me
>>729149252Death knights or whatever is closest to it.
>>729163805Nah, that shit is gay. I just want to play the flute good
do you guys know any other good RPGs where you can create the ENTIRE party like IWD?
>>729149252>disney princess druid>doesn't look like a degenerate sex fiendwhat's the catch? no druid is pure
>>729164326Legends of Grimrock 1+2
>>729164326every other crpg has the option to use custom merc
>>729163521you will never get in to the industry no matter what your skill is
>>729164358Not watched the cartoon but in the campaign she is played by marisha who can be very retarded, god the kraken fight was the stuff of nightmares, and likes to over act serious speeches and a bit of main character syndrome but then also breaks character by doing stuff like killing a prisoner as a failed joke.
I can't wait for the new season. These protagonists are so likeable and I really enjoy the plot and writing.
>>729149357>>729149382minion masters are both fun and cringe
>>729152896battlemage but for holy magic specifically
>>729164742why the fuck would I want to get into the entertainment industry when I'm literally shit talking it you sluglord
>>729153020do any /v/idya even let you bard properly?
>>729158836
>>729165007because you think you can do better, fag
>>729149252Thematically ranger but most RPGs just turn them into a lame fighter/druid hybrid
>>729149252Big retard with big 2h weapon smashing things>sneaky stabby toolbox> summoner style classes.
>>729149819Thats a man
>>729149252Dark elf!
>>729167075thats a race not a classunless you think all darkies are thieves
>>729163857Are there arpg that are worth playing, besides d2r and gd?
>>729164052What's that in wotr?>>729164326Black geyser and swordhaven, the later doesn't have the functionality, yet. Maybe trpg are for you? Generics rock.
>>729167075>Putting an artist tag on an AI generated imageLol. lmao
>>729152794Freya's the only Final Fantasy Dragoon that feels like a complete unit to me. Kain worked in the context of FFIV being your one guaranteed source of unga bunga damage, with Jump having a risk-reward factor sine Kain was one of the only two characters in your party that could actually take a hit, and you were potentially putting Edge and the girls in danger for more damage. But Jump alone doesn't make a class work, as we saw in FFV and Tactics.Freya has a lot of decent support options and spells to use. Jump theoretically goes back to risk-reward since you're losing out on Freya's spells while she's airborne, but outside of Trance Jump feels underpowered in IX, especially compared to shit like Dragon's Crest. There's room to improve, but I wish we got more Freya Dragoons in FF than Kain Dragoons.
