The N64 is jerked off because tendies all played the exact same 10 games so cult-like behavior is naturally going to form over them. Meanwhile the PS1 had a gorillion games so the average experience will be infinitely more different from person to person.
N64 was more forward thinking. It had a lot of open ended exploration games. Mario 64, Zelda, Banjo etc. And those type of games are the most popular today. So they aged better than most PS1 games.
