There's no need to worry about the PC or console prices anymore. Nvidia is going to save us. Nvidia announced SUBSCRIPTION COMPUTERS. You don't need a powerful PC! You can have a subscription-model based computer now! Virtually never obsolete!
>>
it's been a thing for years. have you lived under a rock
>>
>>729152385
But now it's not just Geforce Gaming. Now you can have an entire computer in cloud! And AI-powered!
>>
>>729152510
This has already been a thing for a long time. Azure, AWS, Shadow.tech
>>
No one is going to put up with that kind of delay.
>>
Hell yeah you mean I don't have to own anything anymore? Just let them decide the slop I play and if I dislike some outfit well sucks to be me, I can't access game files? With higher input lag as well? And the potential to lose my account if I say something funny? Sign me the fuck up.

zoomers don't know what terminals are.
The unfortunate consequence is that many tech companies want to get rid of personal pc's.

What i don't understand is why are there no guardrails against this. How are a bunch of *AI* companies allowed to buy most of the RAM and videocards in the world for the next 3 years. I know that there is no consumer protection in the USA but surely the EU will have to do something about this shit? Build factories in the EU for locally made computer components?

When something like this fails the industry tries to get back the fuck up.
If the problem is latency, even if it seems unresolvable, they will concoct whatever the fuck they can to "fix" it. If the problem is paying for games, they'll make those cheaper. If the intent is to push people into cloud gaming, they will forcefully shove this hairy dick down your throat even if it takes 17 tries. RAM scarcity is going to push a lot of people away from making their own builds, and eventually consoles will be just cloud gaming machines because otherwise they will cost over $1000 and plenty of people don't give that much of a shit about movie games.
Cloud gaming is very desirable for the industry. They get to remove the piracy problem completely, they can take your games away at random, there's no concept of preservation and they can appeal to people who can't afford newer hardware with new releases.

They don't think, they know. I can't think of consumer base that acts more like cattle than people who buy Nvidia GPUs. They have decades of proof that their stupid consumers will absorb everything and anything they throw at them, I remember thinking even the 1000 series GPUs were overpriced and anti consumer, now they are hailed as the greatest generation of GPUs to ever exist.

I mean that example does work with input delay in relation to what we used to have. For long, people accepted the lower standards of 30fps, some massive input delay and displays that were pretty fucking laggy. This sort of mediocrity is shit people do get used to. I find framegen to be practically unusable because of the amount of input lag it introduces but you'll find young people defending it all the same.

Geforce NOW? That shit has existed for ages. It's actually decent for people who don't play modern games, and don't want to spend $2k just to play 1 specific game. I used Geforce NOW to beat CP2077 a year ago, it was fine. A bit blurry in motion, a bit of input delay. It's funny how internet providers seethe if you use more than 1 TB per month, but if could gaming become popular people will be using way more. >>
>>729155960
wrong, because you're a tech illiterate retard too. The comfortable speculative prices have risen because the industry anticipates the shortage of consoomer AM5 socket based shortage of RAM in 2026 or 2027 due to the demand they have seen prior and the knowledge that there will be little to no produciton of consoomer ddr5 ram over the next 12 months.

It does not matter if they are doing it for politics or investment scam reasons. The result will be gamers being fucked in the ass. No one is interested in killing video games. Nvidia was born through video games, Nvidia owes its existence to Sega. It’s all the same shit it’s ever been, new emerging tech is hard to source parts for, which drives markets up until manufactures meet the demand and or the new technology innovates. Nvidia isn’t interested in hosting a cloud machine for millions of users all at one time. It’s absurd to even try and scale something like that, at this time.

They're actually solving that. By having the AI predict your movements and play for you instead:

Not kidding. Geforce Now is colocating on the same server racks within the AI data centres anyway. And Nvidia has already actively been putting out commercial messaging to publishers and developers that they can cheaply offload AI workloads to the data centres when their titles are running under Geforce Now, since everything is directly patched in.

(Actually; more than likely - these are just the same physical hardware using software-based scheduling and quota management. Geforce Now is a side-gig. Free money from tax-payer invested AI data centres not running at full peak capacity.)

It's indistinguishable from typing on a local terminal. Would I buy a service like this for video gaming? No, I don't even play new releases and the price point seems extremely not worth it, plus it means you can't mod your games or pirate and if your internet has issues you're shit out of luck for gaming.

Honestly it could go either way.
historically video game graphical enhancements and system requirements
were pushed by the graphics card companies. Large developers were encouraged
to push the tech so hardware could move more product.

Without the pressure from the hardware companies, there probably won't be as much demand.

At least until another company moves in. NVidia pulling out of gaming graphics cards just creates a hole for other companies to poke their nose into.

>At least until another company moves in. NVidia pulling out of gaming graphics cards just creates a hole for other companies to poke their nose into.
Kinda hard when Jewvidia is now basically the supreme dealer of memory kits, which conveniently also are used on GPUs.
Remember, Nvidia themselves saved AMD and Intel just to they can be fronts on getting even more RAM chips circulating.

same as the western world. life gets better and better, so the typical Cho refuses to work for a bowl of rice per day. He also refuses to only 30 bucks as his life savings.
On top of this people aren't haven't children, because fuck that, I live for myself. Just like the West.
It's very hard, and gets harder to keep up the public image of China worldwide, but at least they have Russia as a slave and a resource base which keeps them afloat for now.
India comes in though with even more poor shitters and things are not being outsourced to India instead of China. qq.
The most technically demanding stuff of unrealistic, way over any human capabilities manufacturing never has been based in China. Singapore, Taiwan, etc, is what you'd read on your PC parts for decades.

You can't boycott if they're pulling out themselves. They've already chosen to stop selling things to you. Even if there were a massive boycott that cut their GPU sales by 30-40%, that's how much they're already going to cut their consumer GPUs by. We're fucked until the bubble pops or China manages to actually manufacture GPUs themselves.

No. They continue to grow because they have an effective and reaching marketing program.
NPC consoomers have no idea what a CUDA core he and they don't care. They know just social media told them to only buy nVidia, so they do.
I have bounced back and forth between AMD and nVidia for years and there wasna time the AMD driver issue was real. But, they've come a long way.
Today I run a 7899XT at 1440 on a 34 inch UW 1440 monitor with zero issues.
I paid less than $400 for the card and would never consider buying an over priced nVidia card anymore.
Now, to be fair there are people who legit have to have an nVidia card for real AI work or apps that require CUDAs. I get that, but the average dickhead who just uses their system for vidya and porn?

Is op a retarded poojeet? me thinks so, renting computers has been a thing for ages, only retarded poorfags do it.
>>
>>729168674
I actually had thought about this years ago. An incompetent 1984. We will be spied on and even automatically trialed and arrested for pre-crime. But the tech will be faulty and the enforcers will be dumb and lazy. There will even be some instances of actual anti-government terrorists and just general serial killers running circles around the system while the automations will flag false positives on innocent people regularly. Eventually the dystopia will collapse (be it over decades or a century) due to its own incompetence and costs. Everyone of us alive right now and the next entire two or so generations to be born are probably fucked though.

There is still time to stop this. What is the point of being able to predict/speculate a bad future if we don't try and avoid it?
>i saw the disaster coming ahead of time

Because they'll overwhelmingly be women and brown people.

a turn based game just won GOTY. We are primed to accept rented cloud PC gaming, playing 40fps AI upscaled games.

You no longer have a PC. That's the idea. The average PC component lifespan is eight to ten years in the best case scenario, so they plan to engineer the conditions for getting rid of personal computing in that time frame.
>>
>>729194382
what about people, who have multiple PCs and multiple Laptops, that they aren't using, right now? Does it go up like 10years x amount of devices? Are you saying all we ever need is to buy 10 cheap laptops to be set for life?
Do you see how fucking retarded you are or should I explain to you in detail why you're braindead?
>>
>>729194724
>what about a small minority of people that runs on borrowed time
>laptop, a computer device renowned for its astonishing failure rate
Wide scale personal computing is going to disappear in your lifetime. The only one braindead here is you, since you can't see the writing on the wall.
>>
>>729194850
does your braindead cocksucking writing include the Raspberry Pi and smartphones?
>>
>>729194980
>Raspberry Pi
Are they eternal too?
>smartphones
You are legitimately braindead, they are literally built to fail right past their warranty. There will be no more personal computing devices made past a certain point because all of the memory supply is going to end up in the hands of the datacenters. The projections for 2030 indicate that the demands of datacenters vastly exceed the planet's capability for memory production, by a factor of two. What you will get from then on will be glorified screens with keypads attached to them that will connect to your local datacenter over 5g to enable you to use your rent-a phone rent-a-service with rent-a-camera attached.
>>
>>729195307
At this point I seriously question the sanity of the doomposting political nigger jeet chink bots or whatever the fuck this is.
You do know, that you're talking to tech literate people, way smarter than you and your talking points, right?
>Are they eternal too?
effectively yes. It isn't hard to produce a computing machine of relatively low precision, but it isn't even a must, because we literally have so much fucking hardware it's unreal.
>You are legitimately braindead, they are literally built to fail right past their warranty.
Not a single smartphone I have ever owned, starting with BlackBerry's and Nokia's N series back in the day has failed in 2 years. In fact I still have them and they're still working. Moreover, not a single "modern style" smartphones I've ever had has died, not a single Samsung Galaxy. They became a bit more outdated and slower because of the tech advancements, but they have been working perfectly fine. In fact, I don't even replace a phone more often than once ever 5 or so years, because there is literally no need to.
>There will be no more personal computing devices made past a certain point because all of the memory supply is going to end up in the hands of the datacenters.
this makes absolutely no sense, you tech illiterate mong. You don't even understand what a data center is and is used for. You also have no idea why personal computing devices are never going away.
>Dumb fanatic with a wet dream of a stone age apocalypse. That is never happenning, cocksucker. People know how to produce electricity and the knowledge is in their heads, it's never going away anymore.
>The projections for 2030 indicate that the demands of datacenters vastly exceed the planet's capability for memory production, by a factor of two
well maybe they and you should stop projecting and assuming that markets are static. I do understand financial speculation, because why not, but I don't understand you slurping on a dick 24/7.

See you in eight years. But I imagine by then you'll just change your tune and start saying that you always knew it was going to happen and that you are a very enlightened tech expert, your normalfaggot goycattle smartphone using retard subhuman.

what's ever going to happen is more electronics and more electrics. more energy and more computing. and more energy and even more computing. ever since it has started in the 1950's.

GN has been like that for years now, they've done a lot of investigative journalism pieces on corruption in the industry and the steady decline of the end user's experience of personal computing. It isn't necessarily alarmist like you're claiming when things really are that shit and appear to be getting worse.

They don't need to be profitable. The state will bail them out since they need the datacentres for the expansion of the surveillance laws to keep the goym on their best behaviour
