What's the best version of Metroid Prime? Original or Trilogy?
>>

Original.
The Wii version has worse graphics.
>>
Depends what you like
>Enjoy lock-on?
Keep playing original.
>Wish you could point at the screen and shoot with a remote
Play the trilogy.

The best way to play is with keyboard and moue mod on PC.

Remaster on Switch just because of the convenience and superior controls and visuals.

If you want it for free or just want to play on PC play the original GC version on Dolphin with an M+K mod setup.

The very first release, because they patched the game in the Player's Choice version and beyond to substantially reduce sequence breaking in a stupid "no fun allowed" kind of way.

No way. Remaster has no beam lighting effect.

I mean it's not gone, just drastically reduced so you only really see it in the darker areas. I'm not saying it was the right choice, but the lighting is overall a more cohesive and nicer experience for me at least. Especially when her suit and beam lights reflect off of the environment.

if you dont play the Gamecube original then you didn't beat the game

Remastered, it looks good and has the better controls, but Prime Trilogy is better if you want a more challenging experience

Original for sequence breaks, remaster for regular playthrough

My vote goes to the original, especially for first time players. Metroid Prime isn't a very difficult game. I've compared it to walking sims in the past as a joke. But I seriously believe that Phazon Mines catches so many people off guard because they've already been conditioned to expect very little challenge from the game. My theory is that the limitations of the GameCube controller influenced the enemy design and combat encounters of Prime, so it only makes sense to experience the game as the devs envisioned it. Yeah, I guess you could play on hard mode, but I've never been a fan of how the Prime games handle difficulty. Enemies are already a bit tanky on normal / veteran at times.

That being said, I'm not going to throw stones at anyone playing Trilogy, Primehack, or even the remake. I just don't agree with any of those options being the ideal way to play.

I realized that when I played remastered, I had only played Trilogy before and the pointer aiming makes the combat a lot harder, the lock on with the regular controls is absolutely busted on the first Prime game
>>
>>729153010
remaster is good
>>
Only snoys prefer the original games to Prime 4. It single-handedly solves all the problems that the GameCube garbage had.

Nintendo fans will act like 15 FPS 1080p is acceptable and then say shit like this
>>
>>729153010
The original Prime. And I mean literally the original release, the revisions of that game were bullcrap.
>>

The big thing that makes Trilogy and the remaster easier than the original is that you have dual stick control (or something similar to it). Free aim is mostly a gimmick in Prime outside of a couple of specific encounters (Omega Pirate's hurtboxes are kind of fucky without it).

you're a retarded tranny
>>
i don't think it matters just do w/e is most convenient for you.

I guess I should mention that Trilogy (and I assume the remaster) made a sneaky change to the way difficulties were labeled. Trilogy's "Veteran" difficulty is the same as the original's "Normal" difficulty. Still don't understand why they did that.

Game is absurdly easy with a mouse. Play with a gamecube controller
