Game awards shows suck. Simple as.
Why?
Because
>They have never played all games or even most games of that year
>Majority of the critics and the voters hasn't even finished the games that are nominated
>Again, they just pick mainstream stuff because it's about getting people to see whose yearly fav game "wins"
>Majority are glorified advertising shows
>The voting boards or whatever aren't very known most of the time and you don't know what kind of interest they represent, any self-respecting critic/journo wouldn't go there to pick from 5 mainstream games instead of actually going through games
