I genuinely don't understand why Fromsoft even bothers with invasions anymore. Every game they make it more onerous to engage with and the overwhelming majority of the playerbase seems to hate it and took the first opportunity they had to just rip it out entirely.
Invasions are fun if you’re with randos cuz it’s just more experience interacting with randos. If you’re trying to play through the entire game with a friend they’re just a distraction.
