It was a product of its time and obviously very different from classic TR but I still enjoyed it enough for what it was. The most they did was a brief dual pistol QTE in the TR2013 ending. Grimdarkedgy got exhausting and trite after awhile and TR was originally fun and sexy.

So if you wanted to just try them all once you would have to switch mid combat from gun to gun just to have used them all by the end of the game. But the games theme is very much survival and stealth so most players will pick the knife and bow anyway. It's a deeply schizophrenic combat system. Even a repopulating combat zone wouldn't have helped because it wouldn't make sense that it exists. They should have just stuck to one gun per type and one bow and knife that you can upgrade.But Rise's biggest problem is that the best gameplay mechanics are trapped in a tiny fucking DLC when the whole game would have been massively improved if they had made an optional survival mode for the campaign instead of just a DLC.
