I just got out of an extremely heated argument via voice chat. My dumbass of a friend says that "action" games is more complex than RPG games. He basically said that action games can be more complex than RPG's because you still need skill and execution on top of the "4D chess plays" some old-school action games have. I told him RPG games takes more skill and is way more complex because you still have to plan and execute with a myriad of ways of winning and you have to play by the rules. Secondly, storytelling in the games is very very complex as well on top of it. This is so fucking stupid man. This guy really had the audacity to say that games like Final Fight and Ninja Gaiden games (20+ year old games btw) takes more skill than fucking Wizardry and Daggerfall. You're in these MASSIVE worlds and you don't even know half the shit that's contained within it unless you play and explore the game world yourself. RPG games in general are more complex and challenging than action games, right? Again, like I said it's not only deep planning but also complex storytelling.
