>he doesn't actually OWN his video gamesWhy haven't you created permanent offline backups of your game media? Gabe is 63 but obese, he's probably not going to live past 75 and he might not even make it to 70. Once he's gone, Valve is going public and your Steam library will be at risk. All my GOG games and old purchased/pirated physical media games are backed up to my HDDs, which is occasionally refreshed with updated versions for recent games.
Main barrier to entry with modern piracy scene is that there are so many games constantly being updated that it becomes difficult to keep track of. Even a few years ago, patches and new content were not so common. It can be a bit stressful because you never truly feel like the version of the game you have won't get updated in a year or two.
>>729164741I pirate games before buying them on steam. What makes you think I'm simply not going to pirate them again if Fatfuck deny me access to what I bought?
>>729164964Or an updated version is worse. I hate when single player games get balance patches.
>>729165191Yes, me too. Two recent examples are a soulslike getting patched to nerf basically all enemies, not just bosses, and a racing game having to remodel every car due to a DMCA. These are not communicated to anyone just randomly downloading a crack to see what it's like. Having to read patch notes for piracy is pretty excessive, and it's not exactly easy to just hunt for a downgraded copy.
>>729164741I do have a backup of all my GOG games. I haven't downloaded everything from Steam yet. I'm not sure how much space that would take, I am getting more storage for my home server so I might look into doing that too.>obeseDoesn't seem to be the case anymore, it looks like he got into shape recently.
>>729164741I am just tired of this modern "life" and long for God's return. I prefer hiking and camping over anything else so I will be 100% happy even if I never se a computer or piece of "technology" ever again.
