Is buying a Switch worth it just to play this game?
>>
>>729165867
no. you missed that train. there are myriad good switch titles but AC isn't worth it in itself
>>
Good god no. You'd get more value buying a Switch just for fucking Part Time UFO
>>
>>729165867
No. DS and 3DS and N64 are the best Animal Crossings
>>
>>729165867
No, New Horizons feels like a doll house game more than a life simulator.
>>
>>729165867
I have a Switch 2, ten games, this is not one of them.
>>
>>729165867
It is unquestionably the worst entry in the series to the point iy makes my greivance with City Folk regretful.
>>
>>729165867

You can buy an S2 and get the upgraded version in January.
Or you can just play Stardew Valley or Disney Dreamland Dreamlight? both better games available on everything for $10 each.
>>
>>729165867
It's alright but by no means a system seller unless you're a woman / die hard fan.
>>
Wait for switch 2 version and

I didn't get much mileage out of it. they give you so many customization options but the rate you actually get new furniture is low. I didn't enjoy most of my villagers either. I've played almost every entry for a very long time but this one only kept me interesting for a couple months. once I got to the terraforming I was disinterested in total

We are not the target audience anymore. This is a women franchise now, and women like to play with dolls.
>>
>they waited until the next fucking console to finally add crafting multiples of one item

I was pretty shocked they kept the nook store from being fully upgraded from the last few games, what the fuck were they thinking
>>

It wasn't that good compared to past games, especially the 3DS entry. Being told you have to basically craft and build everything while also having item durability is such lazy design to engage players in a system that never really needed it to begin with, and at least the 3DS game had you as the mayor, while you're just like a regular person doing all the heavy lifting on the Switch game. I actually regret buying this AC game since it's my least played and least liked so far, unless we're counting the Mario Party game on Wii U in the mix.
>>
>>729165867
no, play any of the other ones instead
>>
>>729165867
It's the sort of game where if it's your vibe you can spend literal hundreds of hours in it with ease, pretty much all of my friends put 300+ hours into it in the pandemic years.

>>729165938
Nah, the game is about to get a new wave of life thanks to the update in January. It's been "alive" the whole time with a small community, but the switch 2 audience and the new update are going to give it more attention again.

I don't know the disney game but nobody that says Stardew Valley is the same has any clue what they're talking about. I say that as someone that loves both.

Animal Crossing is a slow, relaxing life sim where you take slow strolls through your museum with no actual objectives, where you draw or make new town tune music, or design rooms or even entire themed islands full of furniture items. It is a game about talking to your neighbors 10 times a day just to see what they have to say, a game where a lot of fun is had by going into other people's islands (in real time or in the dream mechanic) to explore and see what they used their creativity to make and how their island is different from yours. Everything is in real time, so you can spend a full hour just fishing in peace and the available catches won't change.

Stardew Valley is a fast paced chore sim where you are constantly on the clock and don't have time to stop and breathe. If you're not back in bed 14 minutes after you woke up you literally pass out and get penalized, and you have constant time pressure to do X and Y today at this specific time and that specific time. It's a game where you talk to neighbors like twice a week each to minmax gifts given for friendship points and once you max someone out you probably never speak to them again. It's a game where you need to catch a specific fish for a mission but the real time window it's available to catch without causing you to pass out because you can't get home in time if you stay out is like 2 minutes long. If you forget to talk to an exact character in the 12 minute window you're awake on their birthday, go fuck yourself try again a full in game year later. If you want to go dungeon crawling, better bum rush to the dungeon and rush as fast as you can down then rush back to sleep, no time for anything else that day.

no this is the worst game in the franchise
