I can't believe Nintendo knocked it out of the park with Ocarina of Time and instead of trying to do it again, they just tried to copy the game and put out a series of stinkers before finally accepting they needed to reboot.

Majoras Mask was a miracle of game development.

Wind Waker was fine, if a little too easy at times.

Twilight Princess had great dungeons, but the Wold mechanic was meh, and you either love or hate the Twilight aesthetic.

Skyward Sword was... yeah it was pretty bad. Some redeeming qualities but it shouldn't have been full waggle control. Very linear and kind of against what a Zelda should be.

BOTW was probably one of the best open world games ever made. Yes I'm even including modern open world games.

TOTK was a disaster of game development. Sort of what Majoras Mask by all accounts should have been, only this one had all the time in the world to make it.

it's weird because most other franchises they REFUSE to just do a solid sequel that's more of the same. it's why Star Fox 64 never had a proper sequel and the franchise is dead.
