There's a lot of trekking across flat boring deserts, especially early on where at most you might get jumped by a gecko or two. Say what you want about FO4 but the open world sure as shit wasn't boring and the urban areas were especially great because they made some pretty great use of vertical space to make for some fun exploration and combat encounters.
