I'm doing one in Wet 2009, going for a vanilla sober run, just got done finishing up Prototype on hard without killing any civilians. Never want to do that again.

I do "no switch palace" and "all dragon coins" runs in SMW every year. lots of fun and adds some fun exploring/""""speedrunning"""" aspects to the game. Fuck sunken ship though

I tend to autistically replay the same few games over and over again, I get obsessed with certain ones for weeks/months straight. So I often end up doing challenge runs to try and make them interesting again.

There was a ton of Dark Souls runs, literally dozens, like level 1 (no pyromancy), certain weapons only, etc

I know /v/ generally has a hateboner for RetroAchievements, but the set for SMW is great and includes built in challenges for both of those things (and many others).
Added a lot of fun to a game I had already played a dozen times.

vanilla sober is basically
>No Tequila (since it acts as basically a healthpack in that game, drink to numb the pain)
>No upgrades (not even crucial ones, nor weapon upgrades of any kind. Keeping myself as vanilla as possible.)
>Starter pistols only. (outside of scripted events)
>Femme Fatale difficulty, not anything else.

it's hard, but its challenging enough to be fun.

All of these runs sounds awesome, desu.

I do virgin runs in every h-game that lets me. It's not even intentional i'm just usually too deep into the game itself and sex is usually a loss mechanic so its more efficient to avoid.

I used to do challenge runs for Dark Souls, I would sit down and figure out rough stats for equipment acquired over my runs using the online calculators and would walk through the routing using my finished save file to get an idea of what I would be doing before I attempted the actual runs.
I would also plan out low level PvP builds and play through the entire game again on a fresh save file to PvP in late game areas with them (I was and still am against cheating that stuff into the game, although I probably could have used a duped save file or something to save time, lol)
>>

I played the Pragmata demo without hacking recently just because.
Most of the time I don't care enough about a game to play it numerous times, so I tend not to think about self-made challenges at all.
>>
UrbanMech run in Mechwarrior 5 mercenaries. Helluva campaign. Never doing something like that again. Cheesed beyond cheesed, and then I cheesed it even further.
>>
>>729173641
I played through Deus Ex on realistic with no saves. It made me appreciate ballistic armor and the environmental training skill a lot more than I used to.
>>
>>729173641
I usually don't impose challenges. Line, why? I'm here to have fun. I'm all for variety so I tend to pick different builds in games that allow for it. Say, no psi run in underrail. On the other hand, a lot of good classics still require me to have a combat skill and not an obscure one so I'm leveling ranged in vtmb every time.
>>
>>729178864
>no saves
Why.jpg
Its not impressive, you absolutely can beat dx1 without dying once thanks to it's levels being memorable. Diminishes the "achievement" if you ask me
>>
>>729177797
>Try dragon bone fist only run, beeline to anor londo, use the deathcam glitch to get there early through the sen's gate and knock the iron golem off the platform
>Get the fist
>It fucking sucks and does no damage
>>
>>729173641
No I dont do challenge runs because that's gay. I do prioritize lore, rp, and aesthetics in most games I play though, so if using the level 1 Sword of the Bitch looks cool I'll literally just beat the game using it and spurn all of the other options. For example, I played elden ring start to finish with the starter samurai equipment, not as a challenge run, but because of my higher tier autism. I will similarly wear exclusively what looks coolest in games that don't have a wardrobe/transmog function.

>Wet 2009
Why did you put the year? There isn't any other game called Wet that you need to distinguish it from
>>
>>729179804
>Why.jpg
Fun things are fun. It forces you to play in a different way from usual even if you know the levels inside out, because a single shot from a pistol or an MJ12 commando chaingun can kill you so you can't risk direct confrontations without equipment.
>>
I recently beat Donkey Kong Bananza with 0 bananas and 2 bananzas. I also like to play JRPGs at level 1/low level.

I wanted to be specific.
>>
>>729182534
Then why didn't you also say Prototype 2009?
>>
>>729183646
oh shit you're right I should've done that desu
