Game makers don't seem to realize that when it comes to video game romance, it's not a power fantasy about choosing someone to fuck or keep or whatever, its about wanting to have the power to make a character happy, not pull, but push. Devs either don't want to give us gooner bait, or use it like a prize, not realizing that the true nature of waifus and otps and such are about the human condition of wanting to make others happy. there have to be some that know this, because occasionally you do get someone like Bioware who made a dozen characters for a few games that still get talked about to this day, people who run these games and pick the same romance interest every time. Games have the unique ability of one of the only art forms that lets the observer have a hand in the piece, and there is something powerful about that, especially when wanting to make someone feel loved, even if they are fictional.
>>729200040Its about enjoying the idea of loving and fucking something exotic like an alien, robot or fantasy creature. If a romance option is just some Human woman than that's fucking gay retarded shit for gay retarded normies.
"Romance options" in games is cringe as fuck.
>>729200227Coincidentally, more women in gaming has resulted in shit like this.
>>729200040I wish I met a woman in real life I wanted to marry and have kids with. I would of been a good father, raised my kid to restore the Holy Roman Empire and kick every Muslim and African into a furnace
>>729200040TALI a QT
>>729200040For all the flak Bioware romances and ME3 have gotten in the past, I think Mass Effect 3's relationship arcs stand tall because you actually know characters across a full trilogy, get to go on missions together after you're in an established relationship, and see the on-going dialogue and banter reflect that.Of course that's assuming you made the right call to romance a popular character like Tali or Liara. Other characters might disappear after one mission or cheat on you off-screen.
>>729200040Yeah whatever. Check out my waifu list.
>>729201845>with.>ofLearn English before you try to prey upon white women, Esteban.

>>729202881It's a bummer that I chose someone else after I thought the intro of Laezel's romance was so awkwardly written. Post-character development I think the pay-off of her arc is easily the best written of the game.Especially if you lose the fight with her when she challenges you to a duel, and she realizes that she doesn't care that you lost and rejects the demands of her culture to choose to be with you anyway.
>>729203092Visi's a mess but the relationship is some of the best character chemistry I've seen in a game in a long time.
>>729202798that sticking with them through the three games is also why they could get away with the citadel dlc in 3
>>729204796Citadel DLC was a super cheesy love letter to the fact that the best thing about the series was always the characters
>>729201229there should be a better term for it, but if you stop thinking about it in the cring 'pick your own girl' sense, and more in the 'help love blossom between the characters you like' it recontextualizes what is actually worth doing, changing it from a slave market to a mixer or something
>>729200040i wish Liara was real, but she's kind of an amazing archaeologist and i'm a bum so i would feel inferior eventually, but the things i would for this blue alien in my life.
why did they make him gay in the third game?
>>729205312he was always bi, it just wasn't relevant until the last game
>>729206103>he was always biFalse.
