Admit it, this was a good game.
>>729200343Gamecube slop?
>>729200343it really, really wasn't
it's a good game that comes from a lineage of great games
>>729200343I’m only a couple hours in, but so far seems at least okay unless it falls off a cliff at some point
>>729200343I don‘t know, I didn‘t play it.
>>729200343It's really good.
I am enjoying it on hard mode right now.
I liked it. The feds were not as bad as they could have been, but shouldn't have been as involved as they were.
I don't know, I just got to the Fire Dungeon (after finishing the Ice Dungeon) and it's pretty mediocre so far. I was hoping the scanning, lore, aliens, exploration, worldbuilding, etc... would be more interesting, but they're really not. Ironically, the Metroid Cycle is actually surprisingly fun despite how uncanny its existence is within the plot. Shame it's wasted on such a drab, tiny overworld.Fucking Mario Kart World has more going on than this.4/10, the music's been decent and the skyboxes are beautiful, as well as the concept art gallery. Feels like a game nobody wanted to make.Daily reminder Metroid Prime was developed, from nothing, in two years. This shit had 5-6, and that's after being rebooted. I would've taken what Bamco had to offer instead of this shit.
>>729201113>Daily reminder Metroid Prime was developed, from nothing, in two years. What the hell happened?
>>729200343it would be a good game if was 20 years old and had been released on the gamecube, removed of that novelty/nostalgia it's not really interesting enough to bother with, certainly not for 80$
>>729200343It's great... by Prime standards.
>>729200343>Makes fun of all the doomers and reactionaries at launch>Gave the game a 6.5/10
>>729200343It's a mediocre game at best
>>729201512Realistically? People moved on.Niggas act like game development/design is an intrinsic career path because some shady technical colleges offer a course outline in it. Most people in it aren't necessarily jobbers, but it's not like they can't or won't ever move on to other jobs, either in the same field or completely different ones. >1/2
>>729201512>>729203315>2/2Notably, Steve Barcia was replaced soon after Prime released due to complaints regarding his management, but at the same time you have to wonder; with Prime being Retro's magnum opus, and the sequels being nowhere near the same quality, was his strict leadership part of the reason? Everybody quotes "art from adversity" in reference to Star Wars. Maybe there's some truth to it?>In April 2008, Retro saw the departure of three key developers, designer Mark Pacini, art director Todd Keller, and principal technology engineer Jack MathewsThe pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together, ironically, by coming apart. And this is the only notable/verified departure. Imagine what happened in 12 years? How many unnamed, but highly-creative and major contributors might have left? Especially when development for the studio shifted to mediocre Donkey Kong Country sequels. No offense but if I was even just a low-level designer/programmer and my company pivoted from FPS adventures in alien worlds to fucking Donkey Kong, I'd probably start to shop my résumé.
>>729200343Sure, just not a great one. I enjoyed it for what it was.
>>729201886How much did he hate the final stretch?
>>729201958
>>729205264Your game sucks loser lmao
>>729200343I loved Prime 4. I’m at the final boss right now.
>>729206493Rich coming from a dreadsnoy
>>729200343yeah right. it's like a 6.5/10 at best. Mediocrity bordering bland.
shes doing morph ball :O
>>729200343I will never know.
