In the image, I illustrated many interesting parallels of the mysterious character, W.D. Gaster, outside of the UTDR worlds. The attributes of these parallels are, in my opinion, too specific and interconnected to be dismissed as mere coincidences, especially when considering Toby's Episcopalian background, and the religious/spiritual theme throughout UTDR, which became plain obvious in the Chapter 4 of Deltarune."The Angel" with a capital A, which must not be confused with the small-a "angel", most likely refers to Gaster, who is heavily associated with the number 666, or the "fallen angel" Satan. This can also explain why the Angel religion lacks the concept of sin. It appears that Gaster does not fully understand the nature and power of the player."Banishing the Angel" is an event directly connected to "ending" and "saving" the world, which are just two viewpoints on the same event. The darkest and most illusory pole of the previous world, "the worlds' edge", is also the brightest and the most real pole of the next world. It is hinted that the Undertale world is this "next world".All attempts to divert the prophecy are futile: the world and everything within it are predestined to draw to an end, through a progressively darkening process. This is why the choices made from the player, who is summoned by Gaster to intervene in the events, do not matter for the world itself from the grand, cosmic perspective. Then, "something more important than reaching the end", could well be the individuals' ultimate fates beyond the events that happen strictly within the Light World, that is to say, the destinations of their SOULs.
