The thing is that most of these problems stems from the original games, the level curve being waaaay low being one of many.It's so bad that lance, the second to last fight in the main game and has some of the highest level mons, who has a whopping three dragonites, are all illegal.I get why thematically they gave him dragonites, but this really should have been a warning sign to the devs themselves.

You have to mod these games just to get a distribution of pokemon that isn't bullshit. So many gen 2 only mons are restricted to the last leg of the game or postgame is ridiculous and the leveling curve is horrible.
