I've beaten dmc3 easily 50+ times and own 5 copies of the game and I only this week realized that if you rebind your style button off the default you can use style moves while hitting switches, so I can RG cancel to get them done asap instead of having dante inspect it and resetting my progress
What are the upcoming character action games? That control game and Stupid never dies come to mind. Capcom has also talked about treating dmc like a flagship like megaman. How do I get good at Vanquish on god hard? I die instantly
Played through Traumacore Violence yesterday. Nothing quite like it even if there's some rough edges to it; the cancel system being built around a sort of nexus point in the neutral melee attack that basically anything cancels into and out of while mashing will very quickly put you in a state that is uncancelable until landing outside of defensive options is very smart, and I like that the dev had the balls for the harder difficulty to just remove the parry entirely and make you just maneuver around attacks or resort to your panic button. Also the visuals/story are so edgy that it wraps around to being endearing.Great game, I'd put it on par with Aces Wild & Aztez as far as great 2D indie action games go.

Onimusha 2 is trash, I'm actually shocked at how bad it is. I guess if you only have access to the PS2 versions it's carried by the changes made to combat, but if you can play Genma you already had like a good half of those changes in a much better game.

getting my ass blasted by GoW 2 on Titan Mode.All the previous "hard" settings were pretty reasonable or easy but this mode is insane. Seems harder than Ninja Gaiden games desuI really need to try GoW3 though, that looks even better than 2. So far DMC3 and GoW2 are my favorite character action games. Also God Hand if that qualifies.
