I'm fucking tired of roguelites that only give you positive benefits in runs.I've come to realize that the real appeal if the genre and why Binding of Isaac (and to some extent Slay the Spire) will always be king is because they force you to roll with the punches if they hit you with a dogshit seed. Hades was a mistake.

Rogue - lite that also upgrades your enemies giving them new attacks, emergent behaviours and patterns, turning one-x mobs into elites, maybe reducing their spawn numbers and changing their color/aura a little so they feel more unique
sex with sakura.video games.
>>729208123The real appeal of Isaac is that you carefully manage your money, keys, bombs and even your own health to maximize what you get out of it.Without the resource management it would be a far worse game.
>>729209151Yes but that's in service to the extensive item system the game has. Keys, health, coins all give you the opportunity to get more items.Which makes it all the more compelling when you're given a dogshit item.
>>729209290No it DOESNT ALL THE PLANNING AND EFFORT GONEBECAUSE I PICKED ONE WRONG ITEMTHAT WAS FREE AND MY ONLY DROP OF THE FLOOR
cumming on sakuras face while she sleeps
>>729208123That's the same for every single roguelite I've played, so I'm not sure what you mean. The only time it isn't is when metafags reroll everytime they get a bad run, but that's self inflicted.

Play Baroque. It's awesome. I actually like the anime style of the PS2/Wii game because it feels like it does it the same way Suda 51 did in Killer7.
>>729208123You'd like the Fear and Hunger games, half the game is collecting knowledge to deal with the bullshit it throws at you.
>>729211051You will never be old and experience pc 1 masterrace with its glorious mg sized vram gpu and play gothic 1 again
>>729211216True i fucking hate you all
>>729208123Noita has this as well. You have to make do with what spells and wands you find. Spelunky too. That kind of scrappy, improvising aspect is perfect for the genre but hardly any titles have it.
>>729208123>I'm fucking tired of roguelites that only give you positive benefits in runs.Play Blazing Beaks
HOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>729213563noita is ridiculously easy and boring once you know certain spell combos, exploits, and locations outside the main mountain
>>729208123That's likely why so many roguelites have 'heat' now where you break off bunches of your positive effects, but they tend to either not address broken shit or overdo it. I do like games that let you take on curses/pacts and royally fuck yourself over, such as OSFE.
>>729208123Is there a way to implent rogue~ into games without die&respawn mechanic?
Its definitely a flaw of the upgrade system some of these games have where they're always a net benefit instead of being potential run ruiners or forcing you to alter a build midway because they introduced a negative wrinkle to it
