Well there's the skill tree and the workshops/bluperints, and the higher tier weapons are literally better but if you're good (or if your opponent is shit) you can make do with the basics, but that also doesn't mean that a rattler 1 is just as good as a tempest 4. You feel the progression a lot more in pve, both regarding your skill and the equipment to deal with arcs

The best feature of the game is there is a chance you will run into this piece of shit and be able to tell him he is a piece of shit to his face as you kill him in the game.

The ttk is too stupidly low to make it feel like half the gear matters and the inventory system isn't particularly fun to shuffle through to make a load out so you just go free kit and salt farm

Exoborne is unironically a much more fun, higher skill-cap third person extraction shooter with much more interesting movement mechanics. It's going to flop hard though, Arc Raiders beat them to the altar. The market won't support both of them.

The game focuses on having short burst of gameplay usually around 20 minutes/round, just enough to not tire someone. Its a genuinely a good game IF you don't play it all the time. If you are like the previously said unemployed whose time is worth negative $/h you are going to hate it. The cherry on top is that the free loadout can rival heavily invested people, which again is a natural filter against sweats, who are prone to kill every fun.

There are some questionable shit like the obvious traces of wokeness in characters, but its not in the IN YOUR FACE YPIPO way. My suspicion is that its there to be able to ship the game easier and be under radar. The other is enemy design is kind of mediocre as aliens are drones, and crabs, they are visually boring and uninteresting and the entire lore is lukewarm, but its a who gives a fuck type of thing. Then there is the AI usage, but it succeeds of being fun, which is ultimately the important part. Its opposite of sunk cost fallacy and autistic shit like fortnite.
It feel like this is the best as its gets in 2025.
