Why do people praise REmake? it ruined the visuals of the original game, drained it all of its color and soul. How is this the best REmake ever?
It's a fucking horror game. It's not supposed to be bright and colorful, it's meant to be dark and bleak
>>729210397OG remake was kino and better than the first og, This is saying from someone who finds the 4 remake completely unnecessary/ just compare the fucking themes and you can see what they meant for the original vision for the 1st remake https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APmKR2EseRQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJYvCHm3Ov4
>>729210464That is the most midwit take I've ever heard about horror>"Lol, just make the room dark and now it's scary"The original manages to be far more unsettling and eerie than the remake despite being "colorful"The horror comes from the liminality AND the bright visuals. Moody lighting, still air, empty spaces where it's as if life disappeared from a room the moment you enter it, and there's still the warmth left on the seats, food boiling on the stove, fireplace flickering. A master of the craft can make a seemingly lively, colorful and bright setting seem like the scariest thing in the world, something modern day retards can't figure out. Same color palette for every horror game, black, brown, dark red and grey, THAT'S your idea of "horror"? Pfft. The mouldy, dark, dilapidated, cookie cutter horror house milieu is for actual philistines who know no better.

>>729211936>A master of the craft can make a seemingly lively, colorful and bright setting seem like the scariest thing in the world, something modern day retards can't figure out.You are literally describing a zoomer meme called liminal spaces. You're trying to make the flatly lit RE1 Spencer Mansion sound like the fucking Backrooms or some gay shit. The Spencer Mansion is supposed to be a dark traditional scary haunted house, like the one from Sweet Home or Night of the Living Dead. It's not the Overlook Hotel. Fuck off with this gay "it's le scary because the dev typed "light_environment" in the console, ooooo!" Anti-RE1 remake contrarians need to be hanged
>>729210397Wow the remake looks so much better
>>729210397>it ruined the visuals of the original gameTHE ORIGINAL LOOKED LIKE SHITI DON'T CAAAAAAAAARE
>>729210397>it ruined the visuals of the original gameBy making them much better>drained it all of its color and soulMaking it scarier.
>>729210397muh graphicsmuh non tank control scheme
>>729210397My game didn't look as dark and washed out as the right. Hmm, guys anon wouldn't be disingenuous for a point would he?
>>729212136Low effort bait. You're the type of retard convinced that Dead Space remake is scarier because it's darker. You understand nothing of horror. Keep being amused by lowbrow shit.

>>729210397>Why do people praise REmakeBecause it's a good game. Next time don't waste a thread on such a stupid question.
>>729211936I'm probably one of the few that will agree with you, OP. The original games create a very unsettling atmosphere BECAUSE of the fact it's not just pitch black rooms. It's a unique feeling. A depressing, hopeless feeling. It's an entirely different type of fear I felt playing them as a kid in contrast to other horror games. I find it far more interesting to be scared in the light. The safe feeling of light is corrupted. There is nothing safe except the save room.Anybody can turn the lights off in a level and call it horror. What Capcom did back then (due to limitations) was create an atmosphere unlike any other.
>>729210464>It's not supposed to be bright and colorfulA lot of horror films are very colorful.
>>729213351There is literally no such thing as a bright, colorful horror game. Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Dead Space are all bleak and desaturated. Your gay bright orange GMod map sticks out like a sore thumb
Reminder that Capcom themselves thought that first zombie CG looked like ass and they immediately edited it in RE2's intro.
>>729210397I appreciate both for what they're attempting to do. I also find it disingenuous to say the REmake's aesthetics are cheap and merely playing into dark=spooky. If you want to see that in action just look at REmake 2 where the entire game is actually near pitch black, the style is now boring realism and it's much worse than REmake's aesthetic or the original's.Wondering how many people that prefer the original played it when they were young or played it first, I would've found it scarier in either context if that was the case.
>>729212408remake on the gamecube originally only had tank controls, newer releases added other input systems.
>>729213606>Your gay bright orange GMod map sticks out like a sore thumblol'd it actually does kind of look like that
the primary goal of remake was to take re1 and get it out of the cheap, kind of hacky production it was and make it "classy." the visuals of the original are good, but very mid 90s early cg. they immediately improved on the backgrounds in re2 and i could see them wanting to apply that experience to 1

>>729214054So he made the same post over 4 years. I think we all do that. Now if he had 10 pages of it, I'd be more concerned.
Many such cases.
A remake is a new game. It doesn't "ruin" anything from a previous game, because it is not trying to be a previous game.It is not a port.It is not a remaster.
