One of ME3s many retarded writing conceits was the one where they decided that Reaper AI was the only legitimate form synthetic life, implying that the Heretic Geth were correct. It's not intentional but the writers have to ham-fist the retcon so hard we get the typical nonsensical shit that lead to shit like the Indoctrination theory being hilariously "plausible".

Liara is by far the most important companion. Like everything would have fallen apart without her. My favourite is Wrex because he is cute, but Liara is 2-3 tiers above the rest. In another story she might not be.
