So you just aimlessly wander around killing things?

Retarded?

What did you expect? A guided cinematic experience like the AAA trash?

This. Literally this, sister. Where was the yellow paint or the quest markers, are they stupid?
>>
>>729211892
You get your goal within the first 5 minutes of the game. Ring the bell of awakening.

All Souls games are just murder simulators.

It's self-defense in almost all cases, not murder

Back when the games were good they clearly wanted players to have mixed feelings about some of the entities they were told to kill, now they've ironed all that stuff out.

DS1 has Sif. The point is that in the early games they had bosses who clearly prioritized the emotional experience over mechanics, doing things like refusing to fight you at all or becoming weaker in their second phase.

Just realizing that Elden Ring could never have a boss like Astraea is a good window into how Miyazaki has lost touch with what made his earlier games worthwhile in the first place.

We can agree on that. I actually made an entire thread about that

Canonically the only people who survive in my playthroughs is Priscilla and the painter girl in 3. Everyone else is exterminated before the ending every time.

No, you have a very clear goal, maybe some directions even, I don't remember.

99.999% of players forget all about the damn bell within the next 10 minutes

Yeah it's pretty kino, almost like a 3d Terraria.

Yes you kill a lot and you will be killed a lot. One of the greatest games ever made, truly.
