It should've been an N64 launch title

Vores are gay niggers from outer space

weak gameplay, coolest part was exploring maps really but that got old after like an hour

the sequels were soulless and nerfed gameplay for no reason

Nothing

The technology wasn't quite there to have fully 3D enemies yet. Stuff like Duke 3D were way more fun and developed as games.

People didn’t play the remaster on nightmare mode

Honestly yeah, it had that early 3D jank charm that would've fit right in with Pilotwings 64 and Blast Corps. Could’ve been a cult classic instead of whatever half-forgotten mess it ended up as.

it's a good frenetic game but it's just souless compared to doom and duke 3d. there's like 1 song in the entire game and the models/graphics have this weird black-brown filter slop

i like quake the most of any id game, and you won't change my opinion

>3d fire and explosions on a fucking P90
why can't modern devs do this?

Yeah, it’s like they surgically removed all the grit and menace from the original. The lighting got too clean, level design turned into hallways with arena rooms, and the weapons felt like nerf versions of themselves. They chased “accessibility” and ended up gutting the identity that made it stand out in the first place.
