genuine question, why does nobody speak out against the absolutely retarded decisions? like 90% of the devs surely must know shit like concord simply would never sell?
Why do underages have this obsession of taking an image off the internet and just slapping a wojak or "gigachad" or some other sharty adjacent meme on it? They never change or edit the pic in any other way it's just "hmm yes, I... think... I understand this post? But I better put in one of my socialized bugperson markers of approval to make sure my kin get it too"
>>729216531They can't think for themselves, they never had an original thought in their lives.
am on a phone so i dont wont type out the stories i have, but the reason is that as a grunt, you somply have zero influence on the decisionmaking. i was a grunt and i was very vocal about the issues in the company and proposed how to fix them, and every single of those was ignored. and that was in a company of 30 people. i saw others do the same thing abd get ignored. in the end you resign from giving feedback and just do what you are hired to do.
>>729216531You're on /v/ This place has always done this stupid shitYour screencaps are laughstoxks of the site you're no better. >/a/ screencap>A plain screencap of the thread and/or posts in question>/v/ screencap>screencap of the post blown up big>a bunch of random stupid reaction images haphazardly pasted around it
>>729216460>speak out>lose job>bills are due
>>729216675It's like that thing about euro nature shows versus american nature shows
>>729216460It's mostly so you stay in good graces and don't lose your bread ticket. You see it regardless of political ideology, career, or community. Oh, calling out Concord's shit design would make me out as a hero to terminally-online people. Wow, let me do that and burn a bridge I plan to call in six months to help me get my next job. I do it, your dad did it, most people do it. When you're privileged or you're in a decision maker role, that's where you can open your mouth. But nowadays, the American work culture has more in common with salaryman Japan than it does with 1950s American work culture.
>>729216460Anon, you can literally get sued in the United States for not hiring certain groups. You may win the suit, but it will be incredibly damaging to your brand. Thus you have no choice but to hire people from those groups. Since those people would ruin the code and design of the game, you can only assign them to the art. Unfortunately, they don't know how to make art, so the art for your game is in effect a ritual sacrifice to keep the god of the state from hurting you.
>>729216460The ex-CEO of Boeing went on a purging spree of what he called "asshole geniuses". These were senior engineers who were pointing out that cutting corners is dangerous. That's the state of modern business culture. It's what happens when white male Christian leadership is replaced by Jewish leadership.
>>729216460The grunts aren't paid enough for that.
>>729216460>like 90% of the devs surely must know shit like concord simply would never sell? The devs and designers have no say at all. What they can do is report their gripes to their producer(team leader) who then can raise them at the next producer meeting and if those guys then decide that it's an issue they will bring it up with the lead producers. But why Concord failed is easy to explain. The lead producers/project director believed in the game and reinforced that faith to each other.
>>729216460Because the structure of AAA is such that they don't benefit if they do so.
>>729216460When I spoke out about retarded decisions, it was noted in my performance review as a negative thing because it's not an engineer's place to challenge designs which have been locked in (and they only get presented to engineers after they're locked in)
Power tripping retarded management
>>729216460Preventing a disaster before it can happen doesn't produce a tangible, visible result and is therefore generally not rewarded.
>>729216957>You may win the suit, but it will be incredibly damaging to your brand.Expedition 33 was an entirely white and almost entirely male dev team. How damaging to the brand was this reveal? The strategy of dumping foreigners into a community in order to disrupt cultural roots so that they can be truly conquered goes back to at least the Assyrians. Women also make for ideal spies and cultural disruptors; that knowledge is so ancient that it's literally a central theme of the Bible (look at all of the so-called Christians who can't see it). Our institutions with the international banking cartels at their center eat up 50% of the wealth in taxes and then use that virtually complete control over the economy to force you to hire women and foreigners into positions of power because they don't want strong communities of people who are living in harmony amongst each other and serving themselves. If you look for any explanation other than the above, it won't make sense, because this is what's going on.
>>729216460It's office politics plain and simple. Every decision needs to be made by giving up political clout and favors and developers who have a lifespan determined by quarterly financial releases and no collective bargaining can gather neither unless they're already corrupt. The shareholder facing side of the company is also at the mercy of consulting companies, since these already start off with nepoclout from the C-suite.
>>729217832The driving cause is still the use of copyright to disrupt and devolve recent cultural discussion and cement the status quo that put the current regime in power. The only reason that any of what you mentioned is applicable is because copyright centralizes the publishing of ideas and turns publishers into culpable actors. You can see the use of copyright impact the development of the internet from a wild west into fewer and fewer culpable actors that are more willing to waver along with the party line.It is more palatable than mass killings to dissuade sedition and dissent, but no less effective or insidious.
>>729216460I for one just want the AAA industry to collapse.
test
why is everyone saying "because you'd get fired" as if a minor feedback would get you fired, even the soviet union listened(at least pretended) to complaints about service quality
>>729216778>You see it regardless of political ideologyCareful, you might get called a fence-sitter for pointing out how no ideology is free from how deeply flawed humans are.
>>729216460Probably half the problems plaguing the west right now, can be traced back to actual talent in established settings being forced to capitulate to a new regime of absolute incompetence, and kneejerk reactions.Said 'regimes' don't even have to make up the majority. They can be one or two people, with just have to have enough power and ego to get HR involved over a -perceived- slight, and then fuck everything up for people who ultimately have bills to pay, and need to put food on the table. That puts a damper on passion, when it becomes just a job with people you tolerate, and a company that doesn't have your back. And your replacements are from a completely different mindset, chasing a non-existent mass audience. If you point that out? Your career is suddenly in jeopardy. Next on the chopping block, in an economy that's not-so-slowly but-most-definitely-surely pricing people out of education, housing, politics, etc.So who cares if it crashes and burns, when you're all ready down in the hole. You either quietly leave, and somehow afford the luxury of doing your own thing under your own terms.Or make do, with still getting paid.
>>729216460It's called toxic positivity. Speaking out negatively against anything is not allowed because it might hurt the feelings of the people involved.Corporate environments have turned into adult daycares.
>>729220815Because if you stood up to the office, and told the entire Concord team that they were spending millions of dollars on a game for an audience that doesn't exist—You would get reported by someone who perceives that as a personal slight. You would likely get reprimanded, for causing drama in the work place. HR would definitely get dragged in, over employees being made to feel uncomfortable by certain comments (sexist? Racist? x-phobic?) in the work place. You could be fired, by a company that's always looking for a reason to downsize. Possibly blacklisted from the industry altogether, by vindicative media personnel that all communicate with one another. It's a legit concern, if you're somehow sticking it out in these environs.AAA development, that has all the money to throw around and burn.
>>729222267>labour's laws don't exist
