>>729216607The sad thing about Veilguard is that you can almost see the dark fantasy RPG choked and buried under queer magenta "HR is in the room with you" bullshit. Like, the plot is that the world is ending and a bunch of places are being consumed by eldritch entities, even if its presented in a way that makes it feel like its an episode of Barney the Queer BIPOC Dinosaur.

>>729216607The best part is of course, it's not. We used to cling to this idea that the studio name was a sign of quality but the industry turned into the ship of theseus. Even in case of the smaller jumps between years it was clearly visible how bioware rotten. Dragon Age: Origins seemed like a proof that there would be more old school RPGs being done in the heart of old isometric cRPGs. Then Dragon Age 2 came out and destroyed the whole idea. Mass Effect 3 dropped the ball too in some ways but was otherwise decent. Everything past that point is irredeemable trash. Bioware is dead, and was dead for a long time now.
