Does it get better? Nothing about this game is that interesting, it literally feels like I'm playing through a fallout 4 dungeon. I just got the telekinesis but before that you get the lightning and fire and the game literally has a narrator tell you exactly what to do with them before you can even come to the conclusion yourself>NOW USE THE LIGHTING TO OPEN THAT DOOR!>NOW USE THE LIGHTNING ON THAT WATER TO DO MASSIVE DAMAGE!>YOU GOT THE FIRE!>QUICK! USE THE FIRE ON THAT OIL!I mean can I play the fucking game without it treating me like that? I'm playing on hardI'll probably play more but idk
>>729217084I like it, maybe it's just not for you.
>>729217084it's kind of funny because I just played this the other day and thought the same thing. I was thinking I was going to get a Deus Ex/Prey/System Shock quality game but it's really not anywhere close to any of those.I hear 2 is a lot better and it was 2 bucks, so I'll give it a shot later
>>729217084It's the tutorial. Yes, they stop holding your hand later. However, the game actually gets much easier as you upgrade weapons, have more tonics/plasmids, and use the camera. Late game you can 3-4 shot big daddies and are basically a god. However, your first Rosie fight will be almost impossible without cheesing.
>>729217084Everything up until that point is tutorial. It eases off once you reach the next level. Also Bioshock 2 is better.
It's fucking trash lol everyone just has nostalgia goggles onCan't remember if 2 is good but 1 is atrocious after trying to replay it decades later
>>729217587I played it for the first time like last year and I loved it.
all of those tutorial interactions were in like the first map and it was being hammered in your head that your powers could cause terrain interactions because a lot of devs were really proud of themselves at implementing those kind of mechanics. almost as proud as Valve was when they introduced physics and had a whole tutorial where you threw a basketball at a hoop.
>>729217820Or that pointless ramp you had to weigh down in Half Life 2. Like I get it bro, this shit was really impressive 20 years ago but can I just play the game now?
>>729217084It's honestly a fine game, and gets better. But yes - if you expect a SS2 / DE tier game, you will be disappointed.I played System Shock 2 for the very first time in late 2007, and I loved it.BS was hyped as this GOTY and magnificent return of the "franchise", but it really did not scale up to the classics even back in the day. It was one of the first examples of the new type of streamlined-consolification.Again, I still found the game and its first sequel kinda cool and atmospheric, but it's more akin to Half-Life 2 than classic Shock. BSI was pure trash though.

>>729217084>nothing about the game is interestingIt has great art direction.
>>729217084>i need to shit on every old game now because it's easy bait
at least when a shartard posts his shitty jaks you know you can disregard the post entirely
Does the PC port of the remaster stutter when you're connected to the Internet? It does on Xbox and it's unbearable.
>>729218265>BSI was pure trash though.Agreed. I'm trying to think of some redeeming features, and I'm coming up empty. Normally I can find something I like in bad games, but infinite is a downgrade in every area except for graphics. The ghost mom segment almost made me drop it straight out, and I'm they type that will play any game that's at least serviceable.
>>729217084Once you've seen the twist, you've unironically seen everything this game has to offer.
>>729217084What can I do with this one, Aphrodite? She - won't - stay - still! I want to make them beautiful, but they always turn out wrong! That one… too fat! This one… too tall! This one… too symmetrical! And now- What's this, goddess? An intruder! He's ugly! Ugly, ugly, UGLY!
>>729218563is the game worth playing for the twist or should I just watch it on goytube. I honestly don't think I even have time to play this game right now but i'm curious, it's the only reason I even had interest in the game
>>729218767The twist is that you are mind controlled by the phrase "would you kindly".Saved you some time, champ.
>>729218882lol I guessed the narrator helper guy is ryan, was I right then? and he's just getting you to do some bidding or something? I peeped the would you kindly from even before the plane crash
I replayed it recently and it honestly just was not that good. I remember it being amazing when I was younger, and maybe part of it is that the higher difficulties just aren't well-executed and it's a better game on normal, but it felt kind of poorly designed and bland more often than not.
>>729218767Always experience everything for yourself. That applies to video games and everything else.If you lose interest in Bioshock after the part that tries its hardest to subvert you, then no worries unironically.Everything after that is just Ken Levine trying to punish you, and that's been true for almost 20 years.
>>729217468I love Bioshock 2. Great soundtrack.
>>729217084Trust me I know you're pain. The game does get better but the whole first hour is the game trying to wow the call of duty players. I was expecting more ammo management in the beginning but the game just drowns you in guns and ammo in the first hour. This game was ultimately held back by it's publisher trying to CODed this game
>>729218985>I peeped the would you kindly from even before the plane crashNever mind.Die zoomer retard.
>>729219112because I said peeped? what are you even mad at. there's would you kindly written on some paper he's thumbing through on the plane, two minutes later there's a guy telling you would you kindly blah blah blah
>>729218985No, it's actually Frank Fontaine, someone who completely fucked over Andrew Ryan's idealistic utopia, and wants to be the new head honcho. Andrew actually uses your mind control phrase to die by your hand, which was a fun scene. >A MAN CHOOSES>A SLAVE OBEYS>OBEY!
>>729219178You didn't play the game.
>>729219247because you don't think I came to that conclusion???
>>729217084I like 2 a lot more
>>729217084Nah, it’s not that amazing. Maybe it was on release
>>729219318You didn't come to any conclusion because you didn't play the game.Retard.
imo visually and aesthetically burial at sea is better than the original bioshock. Both are supposed to be Art Deco but I hardly saw any art deco in the first game
>>729220219
>>729220134go watch the opening cutscene, I have no idea what you're so hung up about. it's literally written on the note, it's basically the only info you even are given. there's maybe like a 3 minute delay before narrater dude starts rattling off that phrase over and over, not to mention i've heard the phrase a couple times before playing this game. if you're mad get mad at the fans blurting out would you kindly if it's supposed to be some unforseenable dogwhistle no one could ever put together without playing the game till the plot twist
>>729220448*like it's supposed to be
>>729218545Corset lady
>>729220448Play the game.
>>729221432______________________________i did doe______________________________
>>729217587curious, most people get better taste as they get older, but yours seems to have gotten worse.
>>729217084Even thought it's System Shock 2 with all the depth removed for console babbies it's still a fun FPS
>>729217084I think it's severely overrated. Sure, Rapture looks nice and is fun to explore, but you spend most of the game listening to ramblings of insane people. Combat itself, while varied, isn't very satisfying either.>>729219183Best part of the game, great writing
