If the game forces me to read some fucking books and item descriptions to get into its lore and world building - it has failed at competent story telling. Pictures are worth 1000 words except when it comes to Fromsoft games which get a pass from midwits without taste.

Well voice acting is expensive and since you all shit yourself when even a free mod uses AI voice acting, this is the only option they have.
