You can dash towards him to avoid his firecrackers and fuck him in the ass while he's still in the animation. You can also dash towards him to avoid his shurikens and AoE poison in phase 2. He can regen posture insanely fast, so you need to play really aggressively and make sure you have his melee parry timings down so you don't get caught off-guard and end up eating shit and being reminded of the Iron Code.
