Sci-fi writers tend to be hacks that can't actually think of how society would change in detail beyond some dystopian sprinkles so sci-fi chicks end up just being modern women. In order to spice that up, you give them blue skin or four arms or whatever and make them come from some allegory of commies in space or amazons in space or some other fetish culture so that it all blends into something exotic.Women in fantasy by design can't behave like modern women (until recently when we just stopped giving a fuck), and so they already are exotic by virtue of being warriors, or mages, or adventurers or damsels in (true) distress rather than just some boring bitch with marginally different issues to yours. So going further than that is not needed to attract people necessarily, but if they want to say they still tried, it'll be just a half-elf or elf for fantasy brownie pointz
