It makes me happy that there's still some things in the game I haven't seen or maybe even a location I haven't seen. Still some blood left to squeeze out of this old gem. What a 10/10 game. I cannot think of anything as close to as good of a game as Elden Ring. I can think of a handful of 9/10 games, but this is the only 10 I have. Not to say you couldn't possibly improve it, but the improvements I would ask for are mostly just more of the same.
There is absolutely nothing interesting about forks in the road or walking across a field. There never has been and never will be. It is completely lazy and the lack of level design and intentionality for the sake of scale makes every game worse.Linear with optional challenge rooms is objectively the best way to make a game.
