It's the 6 axis of movement that fucks with the aiming. Just lining up your sights is an exercise in dexterity by itself if you're never done it and that's why those weakpoints on combines and headcrabs are the way they are on top of them being kinda slow to move around.

They absolutely do not take that many shots to kill in the base game, what the fuck did you do in this shitpost webm? It's like 2-3 shots with the pistol to dislodge them. This particular part of the game is also well before the pistol can be upgraded to that extent. By this point you'd have one upgrade at most.

Looks significantly worse than my modded half life 2 20th anniversary. Replacing the models, sounds and muzzleflashes of the weapons improves things immensely. A simple mod to make the ragdolls more weighty and especially the soundfield mods that improve the ambiance made it a great experience. My favorite mod is the one that switches a few of the civilian localizations so that the city feels more international and it's just nice to not have just two voice actors for everybody.

This is exactly why so many VR noobs either crank the difficulty to cakewalk or just go back to flat gaming after an hour. People severely underestimate how much involvement full VR mechanics actually take. It ain’t point and click anymore, you’re physically lining up iron sights, compensating for jitter, and trying not to drop your mag like a spastic. Alyx lowkey trained my hand-eye coordination better than any overpriced brain gym app ever could.
