Do you think it's possible to make full dive VR games work in our lifetime?
>>
>>729233434
>in our lifetime?
Well on average I have about 60 years left so who knows what horrors I'll live to see
>>

Why are chinese like this?

Not happening. It is conceptually impossible.

You will be lucky if during our lifetime we get great and affordable VR headsets. Also maybe in the next few decades we will get brain interfacing, but it will always be output. Input would be extremely dangerous. Anyways output will be enough to have some fun.
>>
>>729233434
If you think about how fast technology is advancing it's certainly possible. I sure as she won't be a test driver though

>>
>>729235686
Sorry, anon, we know we promised that section but it didn't make it through standards and practices as it was too problematic
Enjoy a three hour lecture on male failure by a nonvinary elf (played by Debra Wilson), pay no attention to how you feel afterwards
Or, try your luck with a mod and risk your brain getting zipbombed by sissie hypno because it's the only thing that can give the troon author a stiffy
>>
>>729233434
Hell no, and if it somehow got made I'd likely wouldn't trust it.
>>
If you use the term full dive without any hint of irony, you should sincerely consider committing suicide. In VRChat of course.
>>
>>729233434
No.
We are probably going to get some commercial grade BCIs/BMIs that actually work though.

>>729233434
Too hard to say, possibly not. I don't think there's a way to do that until we have tech to interact with the brain directly but without requiring invasive surgery. Is that even possible? I don't think we have anything to even answer that question in theory, let alone implement something that could be mass-adopted for the purpose of video games or entertainment in general.

If by 'full dive' you mean Star Trek Holodeck tier VR with with full body force feedback etc. then absolutely not.

This anon may sound like he is seething but technically everything he said is correct.
2018 pass bitch has been attention seeking since well... 2018? at /a/ and /v/. Posts Aqua but rarely lewd Aqua Because he is a failed normalfag and prefers 3dpd. He only posts Aqua images he saved from 4chan. Literally got everyone to filter his pass because he was that annoying. Jannies would instantly ban him half the time so he gave up on displaying his pass publicly.
His posts are easily noticeable because he only posts in new threads with no or almost no replies because that's the best way to farm maximum (You) and seethe. His posting style is also extremely feminine and rarely swears directly this is because he is a swede who didn't have real friends aside from a bunch of sluts irl from work and tinder premium. That is why he is so obsessed with Aqua and think she is his "friend". He doesn't know any better and never had masculine friends to get him in shape. It's like what if Kazuma was an unlikable simp. He is entirely missing the point why Aqua is liked among fans (Hint: It's not because they want to be one of her girlfriends)
He also got mogged by an actual dyel GOD as in gone to gym for a few months and skinny. Like he will call you incel and shit but when you post your body he will run like a bitch. What a wimp.

Continuing this "Indian Aqua" is a falseflag invented by him too. He regularly makes Indian getting bullied in online games posts with an Aqua image because he knows 4chan and internet over all is obsessed with Indians at the moment and will feed him guaranteed replies.

Whether it happens or not, that's the expectation. I will never respect VR as anything BUT Wii-mote waggle trash until it becomes full dive. Similarly, I will never respect AI as anything but Google search engine+ until real AGI.

Unironically? Traveling games would be the GOAT in full-dive. One of my dream games is becoming the last man on Earth and finding a way to visit every continent.

>full dive VR
I don't know how you would do that without some sort of brain implant. Maybe with some helmet that really fucks with your brain signals and transmits stuff wirelessly? Either way though that sounds pretty fucked up and I wouldn't use it, way too many options to mess you up, even on accident.

>>729233646
>You will be lucky if during our lifetime we get great and affordable VR headsets
We already have that, though.
>inb4 $600-1000 is too much

>explosives into the forebrain
that's a really shitty way to kill yourself though. That's like the least "essential" part of the brain. The back of it that connects to the spine is the part that keeps you alive. Plenty of people blow out the front of their brains and survive, but it still fucks them up pretty solid though, of course.
>>
>>729246065
ooh I'm seething...
>>
Like Ready player one VR? Maybe that would mean a break through in human neural interface with machine interaction that would revolutionary to the computer landscape.
>>
>>729246349
Quest 3 has controllers but you don't have to use them. You can just wear the headset and it tracks your body automatically.
>>
>>729233434
fulldive vr would coincide with the technology to upload your brain to a computer
>>
>>729233434
Do you have any other childish dreams while you are at it, OP?
>>
>>729233434
absolutely not
likely not ever in fact
>>
>>729247746
>Ready player one VR
That movie was so shit but it lives rent-free in my head that the bad guy intentionally bought a "kick you in the dick machine" and connected it to his own crotch
Like what did he expect was going to happen
>>
Post the car one
>>
>>729247920
this is not necessarily, or even likely to be true
>>
>>729248345
It makes sense though. Being able to put the computer in the brain is basically the same as putting the brain in the computer.

Which basically means that fulldive VR would be suicide and you WILL lose the coin toss.
>>
>>729233590
For a few generations Chinese were only allowed one child per family, so every family wanted a son to continue their bloodline. Consequently there ended up being far more men than women in china, so the vast majority of men are doomed to permanent virginity
>>
>>729249151
Why haven't the Chinese invented polycules or African tribal family structure yet? (everyone is the mom and everyone is the dad and people just fuck whoever)
>>
give it 10 years or so, everyone will have Neuralinks installed by that point, I'm sure they'll find a way to integrate games into the experience
>>
>>729247575
But why doesn't he complain about Indian Aqua posting then? He complains when you post lewd Aqua OP.
>>
>>729249151
Retard the ratio of men to women in China is 51:49 and the imbalance is mostly with older generations
>>
>>729245795
impressive write-up, you are a certified oldfag
>>
>>729233434
No
>>
>>729238624
>having fun is trying too hard
This is why your idea of a good time is crying on 4chan about shit nobody cares about.
>>
>>729247252
Dude, I HAVE that fantasy.
What's your plan? I'm in the US so if I wake up one day and everyone disappears I'm immediately trying to cross the Bering strait
>>
>>729253009
I'm Europe, so my goal would be to try and make it over to Murrika and for starters the White House, then something like Area 51.
Crossing a continent ain't easy and if we assume that at least all electricity works still then you'd still have to find either a ocean worthy vessel, a plane and learn how to fly, or somehow cross over the shortest path which would be the Bering strait. But I read that the Bering strait is pretty stormy and western Alaska looked barren as fuck, so how would you get to the mainland from there?
Hence I wonder if just trying to steal a plane and learning that would be easiest. Or if you could get an ocean worthy luxury boat. Although I doubt they are possible to operate alone.

But hell, just crossing the entirety of Russia on a bike or something visiting the barren cities as you go sounds like a lot of fun.
>>
It already exists in secret. I use it sometime. I get tortured and annoyed and raped in virtual reality as part of a secret ARG involving the stuff to earn life support to enjoy virtual reality games on at the age of 57. You just don't know about it.
>>
>>729233434
>dive VR games
That would require to give big corpos direct access to your brain.
>>
>>729253009
I'm actually working to lose weight and get in shape so I can start hiking parts of the Appalachian trail
>>
>>729247308
I'm this >>729254449 anon, you don't even need a brain implant you just stick a virtual reality device that does it on your head. You don't remember anything that happened not in virtual reality unless you're not using it to experience more time than is actually passing. It just moves electrons around in your brain and makes you perceive something else.
>>729247920
Nope.
