I like killing Christine
>>
>>729244001
I liked it the first time around but it's pretty obnoxious
>>
>>729244001
the game is uncslop
>>
>>729244001
None of the DLCs are worth playing more than once.
>>
>>729244001
It's alright, my problem is that I play like a magpie so I always pick up everything
>>
>>729244001
Lonesome Road and Honest Hearts are the ones I actually hate doing. HH is so autistically dry and simple minded without the Survivalist's caves being new content. And LR is just brutally annoying with two separate entities forcing you into conversations every 20 steps of a completely linear series of bad combat gauntlets.
>>
>>729244001
Some pieces of media are not designed with rewatching or replayability in mind, and they can still be great.
Dead Money however isn't one of these.
>>
>>729244001
I had a great time replaying it last year, might be my favorite dlc now
>>
>>729244001
>>729244212
>>729244352
>>729245850

I actually hated it the first time I played it but I liked it the more times I played it. Now it's my second favorite behind OWB
>>
>>729244001
I only do dead money to get the gold bars to decorate my modded lucky 38 luxury penthouse suite, and I use tgm to walk them all out just to spit in the face of the moral of the story.
>>
>NCR collapsed after a single nuke with no indication they even existed at all
>House is an evil retard whose city-state collapsed
>Meanwhile the Legion is going strong and is so prosperous even its slaves return so they can get gangbanged by legionnaires
Legionbros... we won. We were chosen by Todd himself.
>>
>>729244001
dead money is the only good dlc in that game, and its still good the second time
>>
>>729245986
Each replay I like Dead Money more, and OWB less.
>>
>>729244001
I play this & HH every time, dead money is best enjoyed at a very low level, definitely the best dlc of the lot
Honest hearts would be a lot better if there was an aftermath, after you complete the main quest the entire area becomes a ghost town even though the ending slides can mention opened trade routes
Old world blues is the absolute worst, grating reddit dialogue + a dozen free perks that break the game, I haven't played through that in a long time
Lonesome road has shit writing but it's an enjoyable enough end game challenge dungeon
>>
>>729244219

I dunno what the message is supposed to be here
science is bad? smart people pushing for progress are crazy and should be given brain damage and tortured?
Dala is a slut tho
>Lonesome Road
the past sucked and is dead so move on
also flawed democracy and a slaver tribe raping and pillaging are practically the same thing

>>
>>729248315

>>
>>729244001
Every DLC is bad compared to the base game. Same for every Fallout game. It's also the reason why most large scale quest/dungeon mods are ass. The WORLD is what makes these games appealing. Not a short 3-5 hour adventure through a linear series of levels or a small enclosed themepark.
>>
>>729247098
If you're that reductive about it, of course it sounds vain and insipid.
>>
>>729246571
This.
OWB is a tedious chore and the plot is pretty anemic. I like the interactions with Dr. Mobius at the end where its revealed he is basically a kindly grandfather keeping the lunatics at bay, but other than that, its unfunny shit.
DM is actually a good story with interesting characters.
Honest Hearts is by far the worst though. Salvaged only if you use a Joshua Graham companion mod and treat it as a recruitment mission for him.
>>
>>729244001
None of these DLCs were good, they just kept going and going and they were so fucking boring
>>
>>729248767
>stating the literal message the DLCs are saying is being reductive
>>
>>729248929
>he is basically a kindly grandfather keeping the lunatics at bay
He's half the reason they are so fucked up because he scrambled their brains up to keep them from getting out to do science in the outer wasteland.
>>
>>729248979
Seems more like the marketing message to me.
>>
>>729249083
Read the logs of the various facilities and you’ll confirm his assertion that they were always bad people. He didn’t make them insane and evil, they were like that from the get go. If anything, he improved them by changing them to be “le quirky” instead of clinically evil.
>>
>>729244352
this. the dlc for New Vegas are fucking garbage relative to the main game.
>>
>>729249387
Better than any of the dlc for 3 or 4. Those are all slogs with absolutely horrifically bad borderlands tier stories.
>>
>Old World Blues
the best one for me, the writing is shit but i like exploring the worldspace, base game map was shit so it's nice that this dlc has cool places to explore.
>Dead Money
i like the horror atmosphere and the exploration is rewarding, you can get a lot of good loot to help you get through the villa more easily, story is fine but God/Dog sucks.
>Lonesome Road
Ulysses is a shit character, but outside of that the DLC is just a linear shooting gallery that is simply fun enough and not too long, i like it.
>Honest Hearts
the only truly bad dlc from this game, is just a collection of boring fetch quests, at least the OWB's fetch quests were shorter and you could rush them and take you to interesting locations, Zion is simply boring, not even Joshua or The Survivalist story can save this DLC from being a snoozefest.
>>
>>729244001
I still don’t know how I was supposed to know using skills to convince Domino locks you out of saving him. Where else in a Fallout game does using your skills have a negative impact and REMOVE options for the ending?
>>
I long for a world where the resources that went into the DLC just went into the base game instead. I don't particularly care for any of the dlcs. In this, 3, or 4 for thay matter
>>
>>729249315
They were so detached from the wormd that they became amoral automatons, doing the science for it's own sake. They no longer cared about uses and practicality, only in watching stats progress on their charts.
>>
>>729249936
Point Lookout and Nuka World were fun
>>
>>729249832
Don't be a faggot, domino being an utter bitch about petty show-ups is something that is completely inextricable from his character. It doesn't matter that you couldn't see it coming. Fuck your cheevo.

Swamp niggers and nigger bandits are too shit to base dlc on.
>>
>>729247098
Calling the NCR a democracy is laughable, you must be an American.
>>
>>729249936
how would that look? aren't the dlc just extensions of the base game? like questlines and large dungeons?

>>
>>729250067
They were like that before the war. They ran concentration camps and everything they did to the Sierra Madre was before the war.
>>
>>729250254
In my head its just improving the sandbox of the Mojave itself with more locations, natural areas like zion, and "dungeons" like the locations in OWB and the madre. I understand why they have the "go off on this little self contained adventure" style dlcs but thats never really gelled with me. The fun of fallout for me was always playing around in these grander areas and seeing how things domino. Also letting Ulysses exist as a companion finding a new flag to walk under instead of being just lonesome roads resident insane person would have been leagues better but thats just me
>>
Dead money as a raw experience is the best dlc the only problem is the game is an RPG; so as you replay it the linear nature of Dead money is laid out bare and sullys the memory.
>>
>>729250083
Nuka World was at least interesting to explore. To this day, I still think that Point Lookout is pure dogshit exactly like Zeta and Anchorage were.
>>
>>729250393
"Sneak" behind him (it's not really sneaking, there's just a window of time where the force field is down and he's not allowed to interrupt what he's doing and turn it on) into that first room off the elevator like you're going to trap him but instead of leaving just drop the gold there then head back into the main chamber to kill him. Then run through the whole area back to the elevator, pick up the gold and leave.
>>
>>729246571
I like OWB for the map, however the writing is too reddit for my liking.

Barret murdered Aerith, in the train, in Final Fantasy 2025.
>>
>>729250525
Yeah, I didn't specify that but that's what I meant. Mobius didn't do that to them, he made them less likely to endanger the world. It still happened but he tried.
>>
>>729244001

No one says that. Dead money is universally regarded as the weakest dlc of NV.
>>
>>729250537

agreed, and this is why I have an unpopular opinion with not being thrilled about Shivering Isles.

>>

>>
>>729250881

>>
>>729250921
It's an early game DLC that most people do in mid or late game, it should've started somewhere near Novac instead of north of Vegas.
>>
>>729250921
I used to like it a lot because of the quiet and comfy area but that must have been a mistaken memory because the mutants are fucking everywhere and dangerous to low level characters.
>>
>>729250921
Honest Hearts is just boring
Dead Money actually sucks to play
>>
>>729251114
Dead Money is the one DLC that tries to do something different with the gameplay.
>>
>>729251114
Both these statements are true. DM (at least for me) would be more tolerable if you could leave and come back. I always start out having a good time but by the halfway mark I'm tired of it, but I'm forced to keep soldiering on so by the end I'm REALLY tired of it

Everyone who says this plays a BITCH build like (stealth) sniper.
>>
>>729251057
it goes to a real world place that's to the north though

Maybe there could have been a caravan like around Novac or Nipton that offer you the chance to go to Vegas with them, then when you get there they offer you a lot of money to keep going to Zion.
>>
>>729251317
It's been years since I played it but I remember it being very empty between quests and doing a lot of running back and forth.
>>
>>729246186
Why does Todd like slavery so much?
>>
>>729251420
Yeah I know, but there's plenty of ways they could've gotten around it, like what you said already. Taking the round trip via south and then into the Vegas strip is the intended path, so the HH start just comes too late.
>>
>>729251317
A stealth sniper build isn't too bad for Dead Money as long as you specced that way because you like sneaking and not because you're a coward.
