The Callisto Protocol is free on Epc Games.It has bad reviews online, mostly talking about stuttering and performance issues. Are those still relevant? Did the game get fixed?

i played at launch on pc and the stuttering was fixed in the early patch, like first 24-48 hours, it was borderline unplayable that first day but now it runs fine - zero crashes or anything like that

Literally everything else is terrible. Grab it as a meme, who knows, maybe getting it for free will color your experience more favorably but let me tell you for 60 fucking freedom bucks I was seething.

It’s Schofield pining for a “cinematic narrative experience” and using the corpse of dead space as a skin for what in practice is more like a poor man’s Last of Us 1. “Fidelity” is cranked up so high that there’s no interactivity. Melee combat is a 3 string combo with Simon says dodging. Shooting literally auto-aims as a feature. Enemies simply are not fun to fight. Theres meaningless stealth, 3 genres of weapon repeated to give the appearance of variety. There’s like 15 “slowly crawl through the tight junction to hide a loading screen” moments because the game insists on being triple 8k to prop up its no art direction. Oh, and the plot is nonsense, and you literally feel the PUBG connections where they’ve been severed late into release, which is insane. 7/10 highly recommended
