i played it on PS3 at launch. it was a 6/10 game with an 8.5/10 multiplayer.
they made a nice engine, but they hindered it themselves with mandatory walking-and-talking scenes between short bursts of scripted gameplay. player vs. player fixed all that amd allowed it to shine. slightly a shame i never played UNCHARTED multiplayer

I beat it on the hardest difficulty(Crushing or whatever it's called) and it was miserable. It's enjoyable up until Hard I'd say. Naughty Dog can't make stealth gameplay for shit, and their games progressively suffered because they insist on making it a larger and larger portion of it.

The comparison's fair - linear stealth sections, AI patterns you can cheese, and lots of choke-point kill arenas. Only difference is TLoU layers emotional manipulation on top and gives everyone daddy issues. Sorry it doesn’t scratch your edgefag snuff film itch the way you wanted.

Literally all games have short completion percentages because people buy them on a whim but never finish them. It has nothing to do with the difficulty and The Last of Us isn't particularly special in this regard
